I am not sure if he will be the best, but the fact is -all of a sudden Arsenal has a better goalkeeper than Man United.

The first time since Seaman that I have had full confidence in an Arsenal goalkeeper.

Good goalie, just a bit suspect on his distribution and decision making, but by far the best we have had since mad jens! Also have a few dodgy goalies behind him, Flappinaski and co!

  6. He's a safe pair of hands to have at the back and I'm confident he will get even better. Definitely one of our strongest players and thank goodness for that!!!

I've always liked him and refuse to write off Fabianski because even if we had Van der Saar in goal last season he would have struggled. We didn't do our GK's any favours last season with the constant crticism and I am sure it had a major effect on them.

He's potentially great but will need another 2-3 years to get there.

Until then we can expect some moments of madness and high profile errors (which is generally what u get with young keepers.) United will have the same issues with De Gea.

I think chesney is already one of the best keepers in the PL, and when he matures will threaten the worlds best. Not sure of him being the best though. His distribution is a bit suspect, and he's prone to the odd brain fade. (carling cup final)

Do not even worry about him. Its like he has been there for years. That save he made off Di Natale was vital.

  13. Well I'm prepare to put his first team experience of last year as simply that, a first time experience.

He has been steadily better and I think no one at the back shows as much confidence as he does, even when we were up against Barca in the second leg. I thought he was outstanding last Saturday. In al my years of supporting Arsenal and that's since 1978, only David Seaman is IMHO better than him. Jens excelled in our Invincible Year but he can be... a little mad. Szczes mad moments will melt away with time and a very short time too I'm sure.

I don't think i've seen a young keeper who's anywhere near as composed as him. Even Casillas made numerous howlers (still does). I can only remember a couple of Szczesny howlers. isn't he the polish first choice keeper now as well?

  15. Don't know but his polish shines even better by the week. ;)

There was alot of pressure put on our keepers, but most of it wasn't their fault.

like when Van der sar set the record for longest time without conceding he only had about 10 - 20 shots on him, probably including the scuffed ones, ones straight at him, weak ones etc

If we played 5 at the back, with 2 DMs and a really deep back line and focused on defending i'm sure even almunia could seem to be the worlds greatest keeper.

having said that Szneznky, is a massively massively confident lad and with his height and ability that spells greatness

Hahahaha. Chensey is a beast when he comes for crosses and also when he comes out to intercept. He never has a problem. I can't think of a single example where he came for a cross and did not get it. He has been FAR better then De Gea.

Chensey only became first choice since February. Defending on set pieces depends on so many things, Chensey has decreased the amount of goals we let in from set pieces. Arsenal do not focus on set pieces and therefore we can't defend like a team for them. Like i said i can't think of a single game where he came for a cross and was left in no mans land. Its not his fault when our players do not mark their players in the box. We have gone Zonal this year and its because we know that we have Chensey so now he can get a clear run to punch or catch crosses from set pieces. De Gea has shown even in Spain that he is weak at saving long shots. Chensey does not have a single glarring weakness in his game.
