That's what we are capable of when we on the button. Special mention to Alli from me....he was a pain in the butt for Burnley all day....I've heavily criticised him recently so fair's fair. Sean Dyche was classy in defeat...good man Happy Christmas all
That was the Spurs I know! Alli was a real pain for Burnley, that was more like the kid of the past two seasons so here's hoping the dip is over and he'll be back to tormenting opposition again. Defence were great. Aurier is growing into the side, still has lapses in concentration but he's looking more and more like the guy who's regarded as one of the best in his position. Ben was great again, so solid and along with Harry he should be a leading candidate for our POTY, been so impressed with him this season. Dave coming back into the defence and allowing Dier into his more favoured role was also massive, we looked much more assured. Without sounding ****y, Winks' back and side passes weren't missed today and credit has to be given to Sissoko for playing pretty well, although he should've buried his one on one chance but somewhat made amends with the great through ball for Harry. Son was pretty quiet by his usual standards and missed a glorious chance that Aurier provided him, Eriksen had an OK game but nothing spectacular. Kane... Not much really needs be said, incredible finisher and a joy to watch when he's in this sort of form. Nice pre-Christmas present!
The media Narrative (TM) against Alli reminds me of similar against Bale in the 2012-13 season about his diving (notably that hit fever-pitch too at Christmas time with a yellow card + suspension) . However you know Alli is safe when even the nightmare that is Poll is saying both decisions on him by the ref were sound.
The commentary culture is so poor and highlights all the worst aspects of the game. I find it very difficult to understand the decisions made by refs anyway. The pundits think they have some insight in to the thought process of the players to the extent that they can tell what is in a players mind. They are obviously trained by the media into talking through ref decisions. I often find myself shouting at a screen which is obviously a waste of time but more important these commentators are causing anger rather than providing the service we should expect. As far as I am concerned Dele was going for a ball as was his opposite number why only one should get a yellow card I fail to see. The reason given was that he was approaching aggressively without getting the ball. What like DeBruyne did all through the game against Spurs? Who the player is should play no part in a refs decision yet obviously it does all the time. Dele like too many footballers is guilty of snide pushes and he has dived but his history should not be part of refs decision. Actually when Spurs played in Europe in the 70's they were subject to all manner of dirty tricks. European football was rife with it learning from the Italians in particular, the Argentines and Portuguese were very bad for snide play an outright dirty play. Ramsey called Argentina Animals in 1966 and not without reason did this very mild mannered man speak out. This kind of play has been incorporated into the Premier League now, replacing the hard physical game we used to play with a cheating snide way of playing and influencing the game. It's not a step forward and the media revels in it and spends half it's time undermining what ethics remain. All in all they are a bunch of ****s.
It never ceases to amaze me how desperate the pundits and columnists in this country are to see young English talent fail. Given the dire state of the national side, it beggars belief. The same "experts" who regularly bemoan how the PL is 'drowning' in foreign talent will in the same column space take the likes of Dele and nail him to a cross. Staggering.
With Alli there is no doubt that things in the media are building to a "Beckham" moment. I thought that had come and passed with the Europa red + the ban that meant he missed half the CL group games, but his Madrid performance has not sated the media Narrative (TM) . Would love our England contingent to go full 'Adebayor ill' and leave the summer to the England players from the usual suspects.
Their only interest is creating a false drama, they have never ever supported young English players only the retired ones that they employ to talk down those who can still play. The two old git Muppets moaning from the balcony sum up the approach. They can't praise enough the City teamed funded by dictators from a land that exploits people in a horrendous manner. The UAE like Saudi Arabia as disgusting a country as you can find making Russia look like nirvana and talking of Russia there is another media favourite Chelsea again funded by a massive crook. Yet it's Spurs they talk down.
The ‘Alli-gate’ yesterday was a perfect storm coming on the back of the Citeh game and the exaggerated claims against him then. Yesterday was 100% media driven, as the initial foul for which he was yellow carded was immediately seen to be just that at worst. Then the penalty was immediately shown to be correctly awarded. Even Hartson as the pundit agreed, but it was the commentator who saw the opportunity to continue to spout the red card and diving ****e. Probably working on the assumption that if you keep repeating something often enough then it starts getting believed. The pitchside interviewer then stoked the flames with Dych and hey presto, you have a full blown outrage! To paraphrase Spurf - they’re all a bunch of ****s! Merry Xmas
We are turning a corner mate, when Toby and Vic the Animal return, the others, in F1 terms, will miss the apex and go straight on, into the run off area, c'est la vie. 2018 will be bright, trust me.
It's a factor that the pundits have consistently and predictably overlooked. None of the other sides in the top 6 have had to play most of the season without 2 of their best players. Toby and Vic are probably our 2nd and 3rd most important players after Kane. And yet, here we are. A point off of 4th and in the CL last 16.
I think when the whole team is fit and playing I'd put them up against anyone.ANYONE! Did you here me Peperoniman?
I was at the Brighton match and when I got home I watched the highlights and endured the co commentator claiming the linesman flagging for a foul on Aurier (the ref ignored it and played sdvantage) put the Brighton keeper. They generally chat ****e to such a degree that I am surprised when they are reasonably sensible. Yesterday Hartson said that keepers were too protected when a Burnley goal was disallowed...when he saw the replay he changed his mind and admitted he had made a mistake...it was really refreshing to hear. And before Diego accuses me of paranoia I am ... A) pointing out it ain't paranoia if the feckers are out to get you and B) that are pretty ****e across the board... Unless it's Pep Guardiola. AVB spent £105m after losing his only world class player and was slaughtered in the media. Rodgers spent £125m after losing his only world class player and was slaughtered in the media. Koeman spent £160m after losing his most important player and was slaughtered in the media. All three were ridiculed and lost their jobs within months. Pep spent £170m and kept Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Stirling, De Bruyne and lost no important players yet he was constantly excused as it "was not his team". He then spent another £210m 12 months later and he is now a genius for "building z great team"...oh do **** off...baa humbug
Think I kinda need to explain above rant. uni daughter, nearly 15 yr old daughter and Mrs RCL having been catching up all day ... they are articulate, funny, very smart and strong willed women...yet boy can they make my brain melt with their talk of boyfriends (no smart arses...not Mrs RCL) underwear and say yes to the ****ing dress...and everything is bare...as is he was bare rude...she is bare arrogant...FFS...IT'S PRONOUNCED VERY!!! Disclaimer Mrs RCL is the kindest person I have ever met. Before we were together she helped me cope with the death of my son. She has massively helped me learn to cope with an abusive childhood. She supported me when I needed counselling (including currently) cos of the nightmares and other mental heslth issues it caused me. She has made me a dad, allowed me to work part time so I could stay home with the kids 2 days a week before they went to school and supported me in my job (both of which cost us financially). She made me believe that I am smart so even though I got no qualifications at school I have (in the last 10 years) gained 2 NVQs, a Maths GCSE, an online Teaching assistant course and this week I gained my Higher Level Teaching Assistant National Qualification. She is the sexiest woman I have ever met and makes me laugh like no one else. Yet today she has made me wrap bottles of hair stuff, a cup, jumpers and a goddam glass skull bottle of oil and other assorted ****e while she gave herself books and boxes of stuff to wrap...when I noticed and called her out on it she pissed herself saying and I quote... "it is good to challenge yourself" ... and no amount of mo fo ing from me lessened her glee... Then she gives me an envelope with a voucher in to wrap...so I think yay...simple ...until she asks me to write that it's for £80 in the card so my daughter knows how much she has to spend...so I open it and it's a voucher for victoria secrets...****ing saucy undies for my daughter At this point she is crying while I am ranting about 80 quid knickers ... she then tells me to stop cos the lsughing is hurting her...what a grade a mo fo ... like 21 years of all the other stuff makes this worth while??? As tiny Tim said Bollocks to every mo fo last twat everwhere
