I plan to simply drink more - the resultant running up & down the stairs to the toilet provides sufficient exercise...
A friend of mine took this photo on Friday afternoon, being impressed with colours on view in the sky. What she can't explain, though, are the four lights in the middle of the sky - weird or spooky?
Looks like an aircraft to me. I see similar sights at night that I think are stars until I see that they are moving quite quickly.
Could be I suppose - but, being equidistant between Aberdeen and Inverness, we're not really on a recognised flight path for anything that big. We do regularly get RAF aircraft overhead as we're not that far from Lossiemouth, but they are usually extremely noisy & moving at great speed.
OK you lovely people, I'm off to bed! Night all Night H Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all!
Christmas Eve, and one of my favourite nights of the year. As a musician to be able to give an organ full vent with a church full to standing room only, to use some of the variations that are available, but seldom played, is pure joy. Month after month you get bride and bridegroom on their way to goodness knows what, yet Christmas Eve pulls people into their Parish Church, people that you know and wonder why they have turned out at night, but will not see for another twelve months. Something about the English that I don't understand, but so what, I enjoyed myself on the ivories.
At least 150 people have been rescued after being trapped for several hours in ski lift gondolas in the resort of Chamrousse in the French Alps. A vast rescue operation was launched after the lift broke down at about 15:00 local time (14:00 GMT) and was completed by 17:30, AFP said. No-one was injured during the incident. Rescuers reached the top of each gondola and released the skiers through the roof hatch before lowering them to the ground. On one occasion only I managed to get Mme on a ski lift. She went up with her eyes open, but coming down as we looked out at the valley way below she didn't see a thing. Shame really as the view was spectacular.
Good morning all from a cool and dry Christmas morn in Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day, a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!
Morning all from a frosty island. It shows that illness does not respect the calendar as I have a cold. I woke up at half past 3 then half past 4. At 6 o'clock I knew that I wouldn't get any more sleep, so got up. I'm going to have to text jerzeypie later to let him know that when his brother and he get here after having lunch with their Mum that I may be asleep. Them getting here that late means that I'll have the morning with peace and quiet. Hope you all have a good day.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Sir Dave, and a fabulous 2018! And to all my fellow Hornets, too.
Mrs Andy and I went veggie about three years ago and it was something we’ll never regret. I cook a turkey for the boys and my Mum and Dad will be over in a few hours to have some too. But the veggie Christmas meal is less bloating, I feel. My chef’s treat used to be the turkey liver and kidneys quickly fried in butter in the morning. If my parents don’t have it, it’ll be a cats’ treat again! Enjoy your salmon, Dan. Sounds good!
