I wouldn't be confident enough to back MB at 11/8 but my point is I wouldn't be keen to lay him at odds against. For me it's a watch and (hopefully) enjoy race
London and home counties commentators; what does the weather look like over the next couple of days for Sunbury-on-Thames?
Might Bite for sure, but not with my modest means, I will watch and enjoy only. Don't miss Theo's Charm in the opener, currently 8-1 with Hills MBNR. Unluckily brought down at the first on Saturday, connections are clearly happy with his wellbeing and turn him out quickly, having had no race at all on Saturday. I'll be with non-racing family for 2 days, so won't be back on here until I have watched the recordings on Wednesday evening, so have yourselves a great christmas, bolstered by your winnings on Theo
You failed to mention Tea for Two Bob....i think he is the forgotten horse in this race. Absolutely loves Kempton and for me is not out of this..didn't start well in last years' race and in my mind would have finished 2nd if hadn't messed about at the start and settled better. Proven grade 1 winner at the track...everyone seems to be talking a lot about might bites last fence fall in the kauto star chase and forgetting Tea for Two actually won the race year before. I think if everything goes right for Tea for Two massive chance of finishing first 3. Have backed him too at big odds. Probably gonna be a Might Bite win but happy to play each way on Tea for Two In addition check out Nick Williams's runners over last week...talk about bang in form. Might be in a purple patch.
Nice clip here of Dessie winning his 4th King George in 1990, commentator Graham Goode with John Francombe and Lord Oaksey. Brings memories flooding back and listen to the crowd as he strolls up the straight
Dry and mild in North London at the moment. Wouldn't mind a bit of rain to boost BdM's chances, but it doesn't look like happening. He'll win anyway though, he's the only one good enough unless Thistlecrack is back to his best.
BDM last season was beaten 12L by Seeyouatmidnight at Carlisle, beaten off 154 by Otago Trail, beaten 9L when last of 3 behind Native River and Le Mercury, beaten 20L in a Gold Cup in which Minella Rocco finished 2nd, then finished up with a 25L 5th in a G1 at Aintree. His record in 8 G1s is 3 wins, one of which was beating Karezak in that bog chepstow juvenile race, and the latest in a complete throw out race, early season on specialist ground at his favourite track. If hes the only one thats good enough then its going to be the worst King George in 50 years. Might Bite has run in 3 G1s, won 2 at the major festivals and was in the process of one of the most impressive performances of last season when falling at this meeting last year, hes a different calibre of animal to BDM and hopefully for the sake of the history of the race, he runs his race and jumps round.
It's not looking like a vintage King George, no. I'm quite happy to accept that BdM has improved about a stone since last season. He's 6 years old, so it's entirely possible.
Archers,I was just thinking the same. In fact the whole card looks piss poor. I'm off to Huntingdon ,that looks dire.
Bristol shows his class here, Don't crab him now. Don't crab him after the race, Needs neither Haydock or heavy ground, The Twister knows, you come 3,15.
Ah Well, Skybet, VC, Coral, Betbight and 888 won't take any more of my money for Bristol. Still trying. GET ON.
