    Exactly.

If it's not their foot that's high, they certainly look like they will knee someone in the face.

Why are goalies allowed to do that but outfield players aren't?

why are goalies allowed to crash thru a player to punch a ball away ? There are certain things which over time have become accepted as ok from goalies but not defenders.

Next fixtures for Utd, Chavs, Pool and Spurs all look like home wins on paper.
Could be a lot of pressure on Arsenal at Palace.

Followed by winnable home games for Utd, Chavs and Pool.
Arsenal then take their crap away record to WBA who are scrapping for their lives.

Spurs have been shafted by the authorities moving their game with West Ham. Now got 3 games in 5 days!

Think it depends on the team playing :bandit:

Remember Andy Carroll literally shoving our keeper out the way and scoring lol.

Luckily didn't have an impact on result. But still shouldn't have been allowed!!

    That's a joke!!

Spurs should on principle play their youngsters and see if fa want to show what a joke they are and punish them for not fielding strongest possible team.

Same as diving, why isn’t every dive punished?

I don't have the answer lol.

This retro thing is supposed to cut this out.

I think teams need to start being deducted points personally.

That way managers will start thinking **** can't tell them to go down anymore when someone farts near them.

There are a lot of inconsistencies accepted due to the culture of the game. Why is a player allowed to shepherd the ball over the by-line without playing it, when in any other situation it would be seen as obstruction?

Because everybody disagrees over what constitutes a dive.

That's slightly different to a possible high boot or knee in the face from a keeper coming to claim a ball with all due respect.

Of course it's a difference of degree, but it's still an example of an arbitrary interpretation of the rules.

    I know.

But surely emphasis should be put more on the dangerous ones?

I agree. I just didn't realise they were the rules of the discussion.:emoticon-0110-tongu

My point is that there are inconsistencies in the interpretation of the rules due to an historic acceptance of certain practices - the keeper taking out anyone in his path being one of those.

    I know mate.

I think they should stop the dangerous ones first personally then concentrate on the other stupidity.

I just hope it doesn't take something serious to happen first before they act.

I don't see that there's any more to be done other than make sure that those that are deemed to be deliberate are adequately punished.
I actually agreed with Mané's red even though I'm sure it was accidental. The card for him was enough punishment, but deliberate ones should have a lengthier ban. The problem is that intent is always a subjective thing, and there are very few cases where people of all sides agree. Accusing someone of deliberately trying to injure another is a serious matter, and shouldn't be done without compelling evidence.
I honestly don't think players set out to injure one another all that often, apart from the revenge incidents for a bit of previous.

Tbh, I think we're on a hiding to nothing in trying to make the game "perfect". There will always be inconsistencies, injuries and injustices - all we can hope for is to minimise them.

Keane brought out a book admitting such.

Of course the coward waited until he retired first.

Gary Neville supposedly holds no punches when dishing out criticism, whether it's players or managers, well he must be petrified of Maureen, he's slated Utd's players for last night's performance but has not given Maureen any stick, so the Utd manager has used all of his subs, Smalling is injured and can barely walk, it's all one way traffic from Leicester as they're bombarding the Utd goal in search of an equaliser, Maureen should have left Smalling on the halfway line and lashed the attacker in defence, but he never and they drew the game, the manager then calls his players childish, ffs.

    Neville is a ****bag.
