Bullard and his lawyers are keeping quiet about his appeal / compensation demands while we hold his registration.
I think he will go for the full 4.8 million (or whatever it is) as soon as he gets it and moves on.
I hope AP plays hardball with him and refuses to release the registration until Bullard accepts his contract termination without appeal, or if there is to be compensation the figure (that suits City) is legally agreed beforehand.
It could be that if Bullard and his agent think they might miss out on a lucrative transfer elsewhere they might bite the bullet and leave on our terms.

As I understand City will not release Bullards registration until he accepts his misconduct with no pay off. Bullard has several clubs interested and if he is going to appeal against City then he will miss the transfer deadline.
So its basically in Bullards court as to what he wants to do.

If this all goes to plan whoever was the brains behind it is a genius. It all seems like it could be perfectly timed to get rid of Bullard without costing us a penny. I'm sure there have been plenty clubs in very similar positions who haven't dared to try this. I take it all back if Bullard appeals and wins and we have to pay up the rest of his contract or more in 1 payment though! :D

From the Daily Fail - City remain very confident that any appeal would go in their favour and that Bullard has earned his last money at the KC Stadium.

If he appeals and we don't hear the appeal before the 31st of August, then he couldn't play for anyone else until January. If he agrees to accept the termination, he gets his registration released immediately and he can sign whatever deal he likes immediately. Neither us, him, nor the PFA will want this to hit the courts, so I think the chances of him walking away with nothing are pretty high.

if they have enough on the guy over the past two years as has been widely rumoured, I d be tempted to wait until he admits misconduct so he can leave immediately, then slam him with a compensation claim for his continued misconduct throughout. Whilst we hold his registration, he can do nowt, and within 9 months of him not playing he will be unplayable due to his age/unfit state.
He should be held up as an example to all as to what is wrong with OUR (ie the fans) modern game.

I'm not sure the PFA will be unconcerned because it will set a precedent where other clubs may feel they can also withold the registrations of players in dispute until they agree to write-off compensation.

I thought the bodytext was going to read 'until it snaps off and then bludgeon him with his own amputation'.

The dream scenario (will never happen) is that we then sue Bullard for the £5m we paid Fulham and his wages for doing nothing over the last few years.....

That would pay for a quality CM and CF.

I was thinking the same, when we release his registration he will be a free agent so he wouldn't need to wait for transfer windows he can go anywhere at any time................can't he?

This was discussed in another thread and i think the outcome is that he has to be a free player before the transfer window closes to be able to move in the closed transfer window otherwise he would have to wait until January
