That’s the problem with society today, always blocking the way for new visitors. Make the chap work the turnstiles and then really punish him by making him watch the game.

Surely there's some disinterested-looking person off to the side, thumbing through a paper, to dissuade anyone thinking of getting in without a ticket. I promise that I can be disinterested with the best of them.

Leicester - worst game for a while.
Todays equaliser - worst defending and goalkeeping for a long long time.

But... I saw glimpses of promise.

Get VVD out of the club and maybe we will see the unity coming back in the side. Sacking MP2 is not the answer IMO.

Don`t you think he`d do better than MP2 ? - he did a really good job at Swansea, came close with Liverpool to winning the league, and has done all he can with Celtic in he little old feable Scottish league. He`s more experienced now that he was at Liverpool. I`d take him all day long.

Someone has to watch the turnstile lights. Green light fully paid adult, Amber light for concessions.
Gives the chance to flirt with some over 65s when you ask for ID.

Well, I may well be unique during this utter mad meltdown. I read through the thread but found it a bit unbelievable so I waited until now to see if calmer heads prevailed but it hasn't happened. Seem like there aren't any calmer heads around.

I didn't think we were anything even remotely like as bad as is being made out. FWIW, nor did most of the people around me at the game (though I did finally crack and have a go at the nutter in front of me - he was literally (and I do mean literally) blaming Les Reed for their goal. We had words and he shut up for the rest of the game.

We may not have finished them off but we had six shots on target. We didn't put them away (tale of our season) but some of them were goodies and should have gone in.

Maya hit the post in the last couple of minutes (or so it appeared from my end) and if it had gone in this truly ****ing insane meltdown wouldn't be happening. There would have been plenty of "That turned out OK but we need to work on it" but the pages and pages of alternative "out of the frying pan into the fire" manager suggestions wouldn't have happened. Is that really a rational decision based on a ball being four inches further to the right than we might have hoped?

Look, I understand I'm totally out of step here but when I read that for some reason our fixtures after Boxing Day are grossly worse then those before (it's exactly the same set of teams, oddly) I know that something's wrong.

I think it may be time to give this place a break again as I'm clearly seeing something different from the rest of you.

Got to be honest Vin, had Maya’s attempt gone in, it wouldn’t have changed my opinion that we were both clueless and listless today.

What I saw was a manager trying the same thing once again, and hoping the end result was different, and you know what they say about madness. I also saw a manager once again reacting rather than being in any way proactive. I’m genuinely interested what you saw in that performance that you felt was even a green shoot.

(I will add a proviso that I now have a neggy head on with this at the moment, which may be clouding my perception. On the flip side I haven’t trusted this manager from very early on).

Seems a lot calmer on here now. But opinions haven't changed.

Yeah, about giving the place a break - please don't. It nedds someone to at least try to counter the relentless tide of negativity.

Particularly given that, in my opinion, it would have been a totally unjust three points for us if the header had gone in.

Yes Charlie missed a glorious chance to put us 2-0 up, but Huddersfield missed three glorious chances in the first 27 minutes. I actually think we started this game worse than we started the Leicester game (but thankfully it didn't then horribly plummet like it did against the Foxes). We never deserved to be 1-0 up at HT.

Agreed. It’s all about opinion and discussion, surely?

Yeah I agree, just because a poster has a different opinion to the majority it shouldn't stop people voicing their thoughts on here.
It would be pretty dull if we were all in agreement.

We attacked repeatedly, we counter attacked repeatedly and with more verve than we've managed for a while. And we did it against a side pressing us like fury, something that we've had great difficulty dealing with for the past three or four seasons. Yes, they got through but we kept them out when it mattered, bar once, when we fell for the sucker punch.

Off the top of my head, Charlie should have scored again (possibly twice), JWP really hurt the keeper's hands with a blistering shot, there was a goalmouth scramble we could have popped away, Maya could eaily have scored. No they didn't go in, but we stood a damned good chance against a team still riding their promotion team spirit who were, let's not fail to notice, above us in the league.

I didn't think we played that badly, felt like we were through on goal quite a lot today and we dominated most of the match against another midtable team, but once again we didn't get the points which is where the frustration lies.
