Today’s game had a certain entertainment value and was pretty end to end, even if it did lack quality
That is part of why I have not gone to a game in ages , amongst other things . Wishing I was dead being one of them
As you know the main reason I can't be arsed with home games at the moment. Only done 3 this season and 2 were on a freebie.
Nah, not all that bothered about Wembley for a league match, not much public transport and the 12:30 ko time pretty much confirmed it for me, I'll sit at Spurs supporting friends house eating cold meat and getting pissed most likely Next one is Fulham. Then thinking about WBA in Feb. Then will do one of Newcastle, Swansea and West Ham in March depending on work/money. Of course getting through the FA Cup could change this.
And beat them of course....could wind up Poch... That could mean three consecutive trips to Wembley...
2 big summer transfer sagas, VVD and courtinho. Liverpool done well to hold on and its paid off. Southampton done well to hold on and it hasn't. Let's get rid of that lanky streak of p1ss as soon as we can for as much as we can and invest on quality players to inject some hope into the season.
Talking of which, I was very impressed with Depoitre today. A bit agricultural, a bit of a lump. But a target, a presence for Huddersfield to hit, strong in the air. And I'd be saying that even if he hadn't scored. Once he departed, Huddersfield had no out ball, and we were able to restart attacks at will. Just goes to show that you don't need to spend billions to get a target man. We've got our recruitment so horribly wrong.
I hated 2005 how we went with a wimper against Utd, after less talented players saved us time again in the nineties through guts and determination
It was a bit gutting that, but more than that, more than Villa and Boro at home, undoubtedly the worst part of that entire season was the complete collapse at Fratton which was an utter embarrassment. We still haven't paid them back for it now either.
