Let's look at the positives!! Saints got a point!!!!!!

 

Not for me, overrated and can't organise a defence to save his life.

 

I feel Saints will avoid the drop by the skin of their teeth because there are 3 teams that are worse - Swansea, WBA and Bournemouth. This would never have happened when Cortese was the chairman. How we miss that man!! Ruthless but had a vision where he wanted Saints. At the moment SFC seem rudderless, aimless and rather hopeless. If the core vision is to remain in the PL without aiming higher, then the inevitable will happen, if not this season then definitely the next. We can see evidence of this at Newcastle and West Ham, clubs that have a huge support (5x or 6x that of Southampton) but seem to lack a vision, with the inevitable result of both clubs underperforming. So are Saints as there seems to be no objectives to aim for whatever.

Yep. To be honest I am so 'meh' about football at the moment, I was more pissed off losing my glove than the game.

Ides is exaggerating in his normal way I think. Their support is comfortably bigger, obviously not by 5 or 6 times though.

By what algorithm do you calculate “potential support”?

 

I take it the Saints' Supporters shop will still be well-stocked on Boxing Day. Anyone's relatives getting Manchester City shirts? If they keep performing as they are, then the play areas of the South will be awash with their shirts in the summer.

 

West Ham? I don't think their support is that much bigger than ours. I admit I was surprised to see them sell out the London Stadium, but that's only because they give ST's away with every shirt they sell.

 

I wouldn't say much bigger but I'd say it definitely is... bigger core support I'd say and they travel in better numbers.

 

Biggest five weeks for our club since Atkins lifted us from the relegation zone (and then was replaced by Poch). We're going to need a new manager and multiple additions, our top goalscorer is out, and we're going to be selling our best (or at least most expensive) player at the same time. No pressure or anything.

 

I don't mind being taking to task for quoting figures! The analogy is that two clubs with far bigger fanbases than ours, appear to be almost equally aimless in their objectives as Southampton seem to be at the moment.
