Alli was a good League 1 player. Now he is a good Prem player.....

Look at Burnley, a team that is made up of Championship players

Just got back. Frustrating game. If we are going to play like this, Redmond really needs to learn to counter. He was played into good positions so many times but is just not the person to cut inside to shoot. And now this season is looking even darker with Austin injured.

I really hope Reed has another striker lined up for Jan.

Watching MP2 today two things came to mind - 1: He looks completely out of his depth and 2: He looks like a man who knows he's completely out of his depth.
The immediate sacking of MP2 is necessary, he's bringing the whole team down with him and cannot inspire a dressing room. Don't mention his awful team selection and tactics plus his love affair with Davis......that truly beggars belief! Short term replacement Slaven Bilic? Knows the league, would inspire?
Also must sell VVC with immediate affect, brings in £60m + and loses a troublesome player from the squad. Spend on striker who can score and AM who assists stiker to score.
Lastly shoot Davis in the bollocks and slap him vigorously around the head with a wet fish, then force him to eat my wifes homemade mince pies! Useless!
The rest leave until summer, Reed and co on thin ice - then the weather would have warmed up and the fat b*stard fallen through it!
    Thank you and Goodnight! x

Hodgson at Palace and Heynckes at Bayern, I think there is value in a sort of stop gap manager with good experience.
Just to sail us to calmer waters

Why stop there? Why not sack everyone, the entire club, including groundstaff, all the burger vans, program sellers, and the Lord Mayor of Southampton?

Oh, and don't forget Santa Claus, better sack him as well. I definitely demanded 3 points from today, what was the old git thinking of?

If he's still in charge come Palace, I can only think it'll be because we've got something against Utd or Spurs.

First Bmouth, then Leicester, now Huddersfield. I get the need to rotate, I do. But stop effing leaving out our better players in the matches that our most important for us. I don't flipping care that Romeu has been kept fresh for Spurs, and that PEH and Boufal have largely had a rest. Today was a million times more important. Two points from those three games, and in every one we have played a weakened XI.

And that's on top of the issues that had already built up with MP, beforehand. (Just to top it off, I see that as well as thinking Tadic is a right winger, he now thinks Tadic is a striker!!)

Burger vans are good to go. Too many fatties around St Mary’s these days. So lucky we didn’t get planning for a station as they would be even fatter. #sotonpud

This isn't just about the results.

Hunter is a bully and should have been gone ages ago. But is too close to Reed.

Jaidi is a nice guy but has no clue how to manage a side. But again is mates with Reed

Reed has got two manager appointments wrong, screwed up player recruitment and has too much power at the club

But yeah this is all about today...

In a way, Davis has impressed me in recent weeks. In that he has managed to reach new depths of utter ****, that I didn't even think were possible.

Today is the first time I have found myself open to considering a manager until the end of the season. OK, that's probably more like Moyes at West Ham rather than the examples you have given, but I am still thinking along the same lines of an experienced head.

It pains me to say, and I largely blame the club and MP for putting us in this position and thus making me so concerned, but Pulis is one of the two names that jump out at me. The other being Martin O'Neill. I still can't bring myself to offering Pulis a contract that extends longer than May. But a five month deal, with a whopping bonus if we stay up? I'm now not against it.

Got to hold my hands up and say that the two recent home performances are indicative that Pellegrino isn't going to turn things around. After the Everton game and the excellent performance against Arsenal, I really thought we had got our stuff together. The performance way at Man City was also a good effort. I think that Pellegrino had a tough job to pick this team up and thought that there were signs of promise but if this was a response to the Leicester match, it was pitiful. I truly felt that he had problems to deal with that hung over the end of last season but the Leicester match produced a performance so abject that I would have to go back to the Pompey match at Fratton Park when we got relegated to recall a similar performance.

It is interesting reading some of the comments on this thread because I didn't see Davis as one of the worst performers today. Lemina has gone from looking like a quality acquisition to a passenger. Tadic was frustrating and Redman his usual, uninspiring self. Don't know what Romeu was dropped. I find it strange that we have persisted against the lone front man against supposed "weak" teams but the selection today lacked logic. It was as if he rested some players for the more challenging fixtures against Man Utd and Spurs. The defending was poor throughout the first half and was particularly nerve -racking because it was happening right in front of me. From a distance, the second half looked a bit better but the goal was gifted with the two central defenders going missing.

I am wondering just how much belief the players have in Pellegrino after the dropping of Van Dijk. It would be curious to learn what the state of the dressing room is like because the failure to cement a regular line up is causing problems. It is a repetition of the issue we had last season but in 17/18, we no longer have the excuse of playing in numerous competitions. I think the board will stick by Pelligrino in the immediate future and wait for the moment that Fulham knock us out of the cup to make a change. That said, with new owners in the changing room, I cannot believe that the changes will need to be fundamental with the style of football and quality of players we had in the teams under Poch and Koeman being squandered. There needs to be massive shake-up and recognition that we have gone spectacularly backwards since the departure of Koeman.
