Yeah, it's not so easy without the money but we've had enough windows to shape things at the back.....and we've done f#ck all with the problem players. I can't knock what we've done with our forward play....that's world class but we're clueless at the back and it doesn't look like changing.
oh agreed on the baffling decision not to strengthen the defence even more so when they must have known before the end of the window that Clyne was a long term absence.
Southampton leave a fit van dijk out of 18man squad today. it's clear something is going on there. with every passing day their summer antics with the player look pointless. he's prob lost a min of 30mil off his fee
Whether it be City or us, it will not be for £50m let alone £70m and Southampton will be kicking themselves.
This is Anfield had a harrowing stat for Mignolet earlier. Makes him out to be the worst keeper in the league
Seems to me that, worryingly, he's lost a yard of pace. Gaye (spelling) for Everton had never struck me as particularly fast (maybe our resident Blue visitors know differently), but he was giving him a yard start ad still catching him with ease. Mane without exceptional pace is, er, unexceptional.
Yep, we all said that in the summer. It appears that Soton think he's worth £70m - he isn't. Plus, Soton still seem determined to sell to anyone but us. Most confusing though is the belief in some quarters that we must sell Coutinho to buy VVD - no we don't. In fact, if we sold Ford for funny money in Jan (albeit in instalments) we'd be having Soton trying to filch us out of an additional £20-£30m if they were to sell to us. Nah, very sad, but let City pay for him as they're not our competitors anyway: they're not anyone's competitors in this league.
