Well I did watch that ****e this morning wondering what happened to the season of peace and goodwill. I said nowt of course.

To be fair, my dad isn't very big. Actually he's very short. Only 5'7.

My dad, a red, died two years ago. After beating prostate cancer for 20 years, a melonoma on his wrist swelled up like a golf ball. They cut it off but some liquid got to his lungs and in three months he was gone.

So my dad's deader than your dad. Like John Wayne, he kicked cancer's ass and cancer, like them pesky injuns, had to go away and regroup before trying again.

All this media fuss about Shearer said, "£75m on a defender who's not worth it" makes me woopdidoo. Remember when they said Rafa spent over £200m, when he had to sell to buy players between £2m and £15m?

Used to get **** at football when I turned up with gloves, compression top and shorts, hat, etc. My answer was always the same; the cold doesn't and wouldn't stop me playing but why not take the option to be warmer if it's there?
