    ...except, at home Milk...

Likewise, they play Tottenham, Chelsea, AND City...in one month AT HOME. Take a look...those four HOME games sandwiched between WBA and Norwich...and admittedly, Liverpool at Anfield.

Yes, season might right itself...and of course, the "run-in" is all important...still nice to build some momentum eh?

Odd looking clump of fixtures, no?

Momentum is everything, so it is better for utd to be playing them at home early on but if they drop points in those games manu fans will be complaining at having to play all the big teams away during the run in.

It could go either way. It could.

I'd find it odd if anyone here preferred the away fixtures first tho - like Milk - as momentum is what a league season is about.

Really is an odd looking clump of fixtures...but just testing opinion. Like I said, I've seen it all before.

Man Utd force the opposition into mistakes. We did the same at the Emirates. Arsenal fans will try to claim that we only won because of an offside goal and the red card, but when Suarez and Meireles were coming on we were always going to win.

It is odd that they clump together like that- but it's going to happen to someone sometime. So what is the alternative?

Have it pre-determined each year who plays each other when? Say at Xmas they come out with a list- so that each team plays one awful, 1 great, 1 midtable, 1 meh, and 1 fairly good team every 5 weeks? Have the schedule for next season in stone before the season even begins- guaranteed to spread out the hard and easy games? (even this would need to be tweaked because City and United, Everton and Liverpool, don't play home games on the same weekend typically.

Something like this (using Man Utd as an example since they're who we're discussing- but this would be done for everyone) - # is the position they finish the previous season. Obviously 20 means third promoted team.

    Week 1:
    (1) plays (20)
    Week 2
    (2) plays (1)
    Week 3
    (1) plays (11)
    Week 4
    (14) plays (1)
    Week 5
    (1) plays (6)

It's far far too early to make major predictions as to how this season will 'pan-out' for any team. United have played two teams that were playing their first games of the season. Now Spurs clearly demonstrated that, during the first half they could match United and cause them trouble. Howevere, as with liverpool in their first match, they ran out of legs in the second. After the first goal and the stretching of the game it became clear that there was only going to be one result.

The United/Arsenal game will not relly be a true reflection upon United as a squad purely because of Arseanl's injureis/suspentions and departures.

Yeah, but when it's the opening weekend of the season, every team is playing their first game...
That said, West Brom deserved a draw, and Spurs were heavily depleted. United could have been beaten both games.
They have a few big tests coming up this month. Only then can they be judged more accurately, the same with every team. But try telling that to any journalist.

Let's be totally honest here for a while. The majority of journos wouldn't recognise a fact if it jumped up and hit them in the face.

    Dear God you idiot OP.

Spurs rolled over for us did they? I suppose they have been doing so for the past 22 years aswell, under various different managers and various different players.

As for us facing better midfields this year well........Man City have a pretty good midfield, probably the best in the league and well.....we took the piss out of City in the Comm Shield ( dont let there 2 goals fool you into thinking United didnt dominate the game ).

By all means keep saying our midfield is rubbish and better midfields will teach us a lesson as lets be honest here, you, me and everyone else in this thread knows full well our midfield will be embarrassing alot of midfielders this season.

I also noticed someone said Liverpools midfield would be a threat to us. Well possibly, at Anfield for sure. I think we are due a win at Anfield though and as was the case in the early 00ies when you kept beating us until we broke the trend I can see us doing the same this season.

Arsenal would of hammered you if they didnt have all those injuries, suspensions, player in turmoil etc etc.....

    I suspect you agree....

Alternatively you could argue that while United were not at full strength against WBA or Spurs we showed once again why we are by far the best side in English football by beating 2 solid teams using a range of squad players.

I take it you have yet to see the fixtures then. I agree ours was very very easy. No tough games coming up for us in the next few weeks at all.

    I love the biased FA/PL.

    Ahhh right.

Your knowledge is suprior to mine how then? please do explain as I am interested to know how someone who has been wrong so many times knows more than me. Someone who can only say bad things about United and who truely beleieves teams lie down for us or refs help us out of the FA and United work together in some sort of evil superteam to keep Liverpool from the title.

So please, please share your vast knowledge with the rest of us.
