Gomez is a young player who unfortunately will make a mistake every now and again. Migs is utter ****, a shot straight at him and he tried to palm it away with one hand.
That's not a consolation. It is when you get a point from a match you thought you were going to lose Klopp said that he would not want his team to defend. FFS why not? Why not defend well when we are 2-0 up? This is called sensible and to be losing 3-2 after dominating the game for 50 minutes and 2-0 is just pathetic. In the end, yes we are relieved that we got a point but we should have been 4-0 up in the first half.
Let's not forget that we gave 2 goals away with piss poor defending/goalkeeping. Until that sh*t stops, we'll win absolutely nothing.
Who’s have thought individual mistakes cost us... again That and the mental strength of these players is a real worry. How many times can you throw away a lead like we do. It must be a mentality thing and it keeps happening and it must breed doubt in their minds. Gomez for al his good play this year has been caught out at the back post like that 3/4 times for us and England. Needs to learn quick. Posirive... was an enjoyable game of football to watxh
The question is "what is Klopp going to do about it? Will he bite the bullet and sell Mignolet and Karius and bring some quality replacements? That's the measure of a title winning manager. Identify weaknesses and being ruthless in addressing them. With such a weak defence and poor goal keeper, how can we hope to win that premiership title? We cannot hope our attack to save our poor defence all the time.
As much as I enjoy Klopp and BR before him it's a brittleness of their approach. When on top the intensity and speed wins us games. When under pressure it turns into harried...bad decision making trying to play that fast ball. Milner was right tonight. When under a temporary cosh...actually go to what Rodgers loved so much and we at times hated. Pointless going nowhere possession. It doesn't need to be as soon as we go up as that invites being pinned back slowly but surely but take the heat off. Then once it's called go back to the counter quick attacking football. I do think we don't do it because whether he will admit it or not we aren't good ebough centrally or at the back...or mentally...he knows if we tried it we would do what we did under BR...slowly but surely fold back to our 18 yard line. But ..... he needs to fix it now ....
Would that be the Burnley that have only conceded 12 goals this season compared to your 23, if so I would be very surprised to see that back 5 playing for them
Well... that was par for course. It's just who ****s up. Gomez is so quick, strong, really good but hes got this weakness now very clearly. He doesn't attack the ball. He's really screwed us there. Mingolet, just a question of when with him. That one is just no set up, not seeing it, not set and goes one handed at it Klopp.. why the **** did he move mane from deep left position where him and Robertson were doing fine? We lost 3 goals from overload in that position then. Impenetrable questions but there you go. 3 for the draw. 4 for the win
Those were really bad goals. Not sure i'd blame Mane on the right being the main problem there MITO. As everyone has said, Gomez doesn't attack the ball for the first and its totally his fault. Mignolet deffo should have saved the second. In terms of those 2 plus the third goal, it's because the ball was lost in pretty dangerous positions (by midfield or the defence) and Arsenal counter attacked whilst all 4 of the famous 4 were miles away from the midfield and defence and didn't break a neck to get back (coutinho looked ****ed after 60). You had Milner and Can up against the arsenal front 5. The first cross from bellerin where he had acres (coutinho should be back there) and the 2nd goal, ozil stroked it against to iwobi where robertson again was double teamed and passed it easily to xhaka to hit one.
They are primary errors yes Bob. They are shockers but if you look at first half mane was starting deep and tracking bellarin all the time. Thst over load upset the whole team shape. It was an unnecessary change imo,
Arsenal was there for the taking. As evidenced by that very poor first half from them. They were tentative low in confidence and making errors after errors. It was almost like that our mistake was to score that second goal. They then nothing to lose and when they scored within a minute, their mojo returned. They had been very pedestrian before then and their crowd very anxious. If we hadn't scored that second goal, it could well have finished 1-0.
Yeah but nothing cross that should be cleared. 5 more mins and the game is prob over cos they give up.
All 3 of your goals had a big element of luck, so that’s the flip side of that draw The first one loops up perfectly off the CB’s boot to allow Coutinho to get his head on it The 2nd takes a big deflection that takes it away from Cech and right into the corner The 3rd is a howler from Cech
Nope, they only score great team goals. All opposition goals are down to defensive/goal keeper mistakes
