The Sun are triumphantly reporting that Brits will get their blue passports back Excuse me, but like a remarkably large percentage of the population, I am not getting a blue passport "back" - I never had one before, instead I had a passport that allowed me visa-free travel throughout the European Union that happened to be a shade of maroon.
If the mooted EU passport is offered to EU residents, like me, I’ll take it. Apart from that, I mean who really gives a toss about a blue passport? Certain sections of the press have no idea how to react to that engagement. On the one hand it's a member of the royal family doing something. They're normally all over that, whatever it is. On the other hand, she's American, a divorcee, an actress and then there's their main objection: She's not 100% white. The idea that the 5th in line to the British throne is marrying someone who's literally descended from slaves has sent some people into a rage. They can't admit it, of course, so they hide their criticisms under a veil of bullshit. They'll be making digs about Wallis Simpson soon.
