As for the Independent article, DF has a very different view according to Mike Bailey: "DF on Independent article. Says he’s only just been made aware of it. There have been no arguments with his players and he believes in working hard - “what you put in you get out”. I'm with him on that.
But he's been a championship player for 2 seasons, so that's hardly relevant. What is far more pertinent is why the hell everyone else had relegation linked wage cuts...but not him!
I'm not sure it was that stupid though. Maddison had played next to no senior football even at coventry when we bought him, he rejoined for the remainder of the season but he had still only played 24 games for coventry, I think like Neil he probably wasn't ready to step up then, hence the toughening up trip to Aberdeen. When he was ready we can't know for sure, but now given the chance he surely has proved he is. But I don't think of the many mistakes Neil made Maddisons handling was one. Bah!
The Independent are not renowned for making rash statements so I am inclined to think there could be some truth in the article. I sense a feeling of discontent in the squad with only one win in 10 games. As we all know if the players feel agrieved then their attitude will be negative on the pitch. Can’t imagine that the whole squad is unhappy with the training regime, but those who are misfiring might be holding a grudge. I can’t help but feeling that we have been here before and that a very late sacking is the end result.
I agree that the Independent is more reliable than the tabloids, but I also doubt that hosts of our players are ringing them up with these complaints. One player who might want away, perhaps. I still side with DF on this. We want grafters, not prima donnas who want an easy life on big wages. This is also why I feel we've only reached the first stage of rebuilding the squad. I doubt that DF is going to be the one to leave.
All that tripe from AN & Martin about how they must work harder in training, now they're having to one or two maybe don't like. Working harder means just that, working harder, not talking more. AN hinted before he went that there was issues with some players that need sorting. seems that Farke's getting on and sorting. If a few players don't like it tough, find yourself a new club. As RBF said we want grafters, indeed we need grafters.
All I can add is that when I've been to games this season, I haven't seen players wilting in the last 15 minutes and look at the time of the equalising goal against Hull.
I've had the same impression, JMF. It's a crucial aspect of the game, especially in the Championship. It's also about maximum effort for 90 minutes rather than needing periods to recover during the game. I remember 34 year old Wes saying how he welcomed the extra fitness training in the pre-season. It was a factor in the Lambert/Culverhouse success and then with Holt under Adams, but something we've lacked since then until this year.
Rumours of new signing next month - one for the future maybe? Unfortunately another midfielder (from Ireland) http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...5331352?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=dlvr.it
I believe Godfrey and Thomson, remember him, were such signings. Not sure who was instrumental in signing Godfrey, but Adams was most definitely behind LT's arrival.
I HATE to say this, but I'm pretty certain it was AN. HOW can he sign the likes of JM and Godfrey, yet also sign Naismith??????
Godfrey loan with Shrews extended till end of season, City one of four clubs linked with loan move for Liverpool striker Ben Woodburn. Could be interesting as Webber worked as part of Liverpool's academy before moving to Wolves & Huddersfield. Hope we manage to sign him, he replaced Micheal Owen as Liverpool's youngest-ever scorer when he scored against Leeds last season http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/spor...es-woodburn-liverpool-transfer-link-1-5334308
A real shame. This feels a hell of a lot like JM going to Aberdeen for me. I think after his really positive first half of the season, and gaining experience of first team professional football. I'd of loved to see him come back to us, and fight for a place. There are places he could easily compete for. Imagine how exciting it would be for the fans to have Lewis, Josh, Godfrey, Maddison and Pritchard all in the same line up. Would be a great way on getting the crowd back on side.
This is great news. Staying at Shrewsbury and potentially helping them gain promotion will do so much more for Godfrey's development than him returning to Carrow Road and playing a minor role in the first team. Supporters need to start getting used to this type of management of young players.
Shock, horror!! Manager seen having dinner with a player - let the rumours commence http://readnorwich.com/2017/12/28/farke-spotted-braunschweig-winger-onel-hernandez/
Well, well - looks a POSSIBILITY that Jerome could be on his way (sorry canario). I just hope DF doesn't opt for a striker from the German Div II as an inadequate replacement. http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/norwich-city-cameron-jerome-link-1-5335780
Don't know about VFan Djik but I do remember that Alderweireid turned us down waiting for a bigger club, hardly the fault of Hughton or the board!
Did I suggest that it was anyone's fault? I just checked my post again and I'm blowed if I can see anything that warrants a personal outburst like that. Why not consider a new year's resolution to stop jumping down peoples throats at the vaguest and earliest opportunity
