Really interested to see how the Tizzard's Slate House goes in the grade 2 novice hurdle trial at Ascot. 2 decent wins at Cheltenham already but has to carry a penalty today having already prevailed in this grade. Has to take on some decent sorts today including a Hendo hotpot who beat him on his PTP debut. I've backed him antepost in the longer race at Cheltenham so a good run whilst being slightly outpaced may be best for my only AP voucher in the long term.
For betting purposes Kilmurvy @ Uttoxeter, 2.55 ew 8/1 and Kateson in the Ascot bumper ew @ 25/1. Good luck all.

I'll be surprised if those odds stay long Chelsea. Finished in front of current fav (Roubles) lto having been further back for most of the way. The fav did get bulked when making a move but not sure it lost him 4l (about the distance YG gained on him from the bend)

PS Although Betfair are offering 16s

The 2.30 at Ascot has only 3 runners but what a cracker. Any of the 3 could win this. Benatar was beaten 8¼l by Finian's Oscar (levels) over hurdles in April. But that was only Benatar's 3rd run over hurdles. Unfancied at 33/1 didn't jump fluently and has always shaped like a chaser. Finian's Oscar was far from impressive over an inadequate distance lto and will clearly appreciate the step back up in trip. However, I suspect Benatar, now successfully switched to chasing, could reverse those placings at levels. The fact that he actually receives 5lb this time makes me fairly confident that Benatar can take this. Dolos isn't out of it either. Another improver now switched to chasing who won his fencing debut easily and doesn't need to improve much to take a hand. A very intriguing race where tactics will probably make the difference. I think the only way Finian's Osar could win this is to make it a proper stamina test and try to jump them silly.

    Happy 21st stickler ;)

That's a super bumper at Ascot, the one I like is Hendo's big money purchase GALLAGHER'S CROSS. He's likely a stayer in the making, so could find one or two too sharp today, but with a fast pace hopefully on think he should go very close indeed. The owners would be hoping to see something back from their 260k purchase and the Getaway stock are having a big impact on the NH game.

Banker of the day is another Hendo runner, CLAIMANTAKINFORGAN. Backed last evening at 13/8 but has been smashed up today. Hope this adds to the Might Bite fund ;)

Very nice renewal of the Kennel Gate Hurdle. I think Slate House is a real star in the making but not sure Tizzard's are at the top of their game at the moment. Coeur Blimey clearly likes it here having beat Ballyandy in a bumper. You couldn't rule anything out with confidence.
