Arsène on Aug 9th: "Imagine the worst situation, we lose Cesc and Nasri, you can't convince people that you are ambitious after that." --------- Dear oh dear
What changed about Nasri is what I don't understand. I thought Wenger said it was worth more to keep him and ensure 4th than sell him for £20million and risk not finishing in the CL places.
Levy would look stupid and make the club look small time. Wenger looked totally doo-lally when he was smiling away denying Fabregas was going to move.
"Nobody is leaving" - Arsene Wenger, 12th August 2011 Cesc Fabregas joins Barca, 15th August Eboue joins Galatasaray, 17th August Nasri joins Man City, 23rd August
The sad thing is that I'm starting to feel sorry for LeArs (I know, I feel dirty for saying it). Its just that Citeh and Chelski have become way way more annoying. And lets be honest, forget all the build up and salivation that Sky do for their big four games, the games that have proved to be the most constantly entertaining for several years now have been Spurs v Arsenal.
I'm starting to like Pingpong. Stuck the boot into Piers Morgan for being a **** fan and now he's slagging off Nasri! Sounds like he was as unpopular in the Goon's dressing room as he was for France.
Frimpong reminds me of Song, when he first broke through. Both of them need to learn discipline, but in different areas, as far as I can see. Song needs to remember what his main role in the team is and offer the defence more protection. Frimpong needs to calm down a bit and be more measured with his physical play.
Modric is going nowhere in this transfer window, unless the Chavs come up with a last minute "offer you can't refuse". Good old ARSEne. Can always be relied upon for an Open mouth - insert foot, comment or two.
I think Wenger is very clever. He's managed to create another excuse option for when games don't go his way.
Pointless fine, really. Not worth bothering. There was more fuss in the derby game on the weekend, in my opinion.
The fine was ridiculous - it wasn't a case of not controlling their players. The players were trying to assist to break up a spat between Barton and Gervinho, who had already been dealt with by the ref (although had the ref seen Barton grab Gervinho by the throat, then he would also have been red carded) Another case of knee jerk FA rulings. But ultimately £30k is peanuts to both clubs.
