Mourinho when he arrived in england had thrown his cl winners medal into the crowd at the game and walked off not even giving his porto side time to celebrate the win. he stepped into a team ready to win the league (2nd in table year before and spent 100mil or whatever) he had his lucky coat and his special one tag line he self applied and the press lapped it up. Women apparently swooned over him.

within 2 years it had all fallen apart and he was gone and cheslea achieved more without him than with him. People forget achelotti won the double and di matteo the CL and even rafa the europa. He actually got lucky utd standards dropped at the same time he stepped.

That got him the inter job which he courted hugely, he fell out there almost instantly. The italian league was unopposed due to the match fixing scandal and he grew the grass long to stifle barca.

That then gets him the real job which he courted almost before the name sign on his officer door at inter was dry. the wheels come off when a guy named guardiola emerged and since then he's been on the slide.

Its all about money and chasding the few clubs with the dominant positions.

Here is the thing. Have bayern ever gone for Mourinho. Nope.

Ferguson didn't want mourinho near his club cos he knew what he would do but then he went and got moyes and van gaal so that was nuts. now utd are spending all their money to make him happy while he is scheming to get to PSG next year.

not so sure about that , as an example if 13/14 BR had led us the the title we would still be squirming and moaning about his interviews / press conferences . Think in cases like that you are pleased you won but don't 100% "love" the manager.

As i said we would be happy if we won trophies but like lots of fans of teams Mourinho has led to success that doesn't mean that there are aspects of their behaviour a section of the fanbase doesn't like.

no he gave them 3 years like he said he would do for barca, it took them huge arm twisting to get a 4th year form him. City want to sign him up now for more than 3 and i think he will turn them down.

I assume most of us were hoping he'd be the real deal at the start (I was), but there was plenty of criticism of his business-speak, massive portrait and the envelope stuff.
If he'd have delivered the goods we'd have accepted it all, but still not thought it was a good thing.

 

It was also the switch from tubby young manager with his portfolio to black tailored suits, tan, dumped the wife and got a young new blonde.
