Let’s see if we beat Bristol City this weekend before deciding. Because if we beat a team better than Manchester United, it means we are better than Manchester United. And that would make Holloway better than Jose Mourinho, and all the managers that he has ever beaten. I think it would be hasty to get rid of one of the greatest, if not the greatest, manager of his generation. It’s just basic logic isn’t it? Although following that logic through makes Alvin MacDonald, once manager of Vauxhall Motors, pretty ****ing good too. Perhaps we’ll lose and I won’t give myself permanent brain damage thinking this through.
Tbh I’m not an olly fan . His team rotation is a big issue . I agree with you about Sylla and Washington. We beat wolves and sheff Utd at home with Sylla and Washington starting up front for both games . Both scored . Surely for the next home game u keep that pairing .confidence high , scoring against and beating two top sides . Both players started on the bench . This is just one example , I’m sure there are plenty more .
Ollie is passionate, wants to get the basics correct, but can certainly frustrate with some of his team selections. I look forward to seeing the team sheet on Saturday and watching the team perform via the stream. COYR's!
For me it's a tough call between Ned and Baptiste but I'd like to see Wheeler given a go, he can score, so up front is fine with me, could always change things about if it's not going well, and any one of 3 of the mids could go off and Wheeler drop back.
I'm pretty sure ollies first priority will be to try neutralise bristols play and that in my opinion is his downfall. He concentrates too much on opposition and trying to stop them playing their way and should instead concentrate on us and how we play. I really do feel like he is constantly experimenting which is so bloody frustrating
I was thinking along the same lines Bob. We'll be set up as if we are playing as the away team, and we all know how that will work out.
Did we do it differently against Wolves and Sheffield United? Serious question, I wasn’t there. Got your mojo back, will you be going on Saturday?
I thought we played well against Wolves and went for it even after going a goal up. I didn't go to the Sheffield game, that was when my wife was in hospital. Yes I'll be their on Saturday for the traditional Christmas meet up with my mates for a festive pint or two.
Spot on. I think that this is exactly Ollie tactics, hence his formations. Let's see what we conjour up for Saturday.
