It seems the Star think we are in for him again? After what the chairman said I'm not sure? If they bring the price down to £250k ish I can see Millwall going for him but not us. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football...ald-set-to-leave-Norwich-before-end-of-month/ To his credit he puts in 100% effort every game but requires 6 attemps for every goal, not really cover for 'BWP better than Shaun' who is 'one chance one goal'! AllHell
AllHell - 250k????????? I'm sure Hessy and Scally would've been in there before you if that was the asking price. Norwich appear to have been a bit stubborn on that one, reported many times to be asking between 600-650k. He's out of contract at the end of the season, so cannot quite work out what their game is, unless they opt to loan him out for 6 months. Could be coming back to the Gills if that's the case...I wished!!
Nobody's going to offer £600k for him, about £250k is about tops in my umble opinion. What, a season long loan fee of about £100k with no retained value next summer? not a good option. Could Gills cover all his wages? He probably had a promotion clause in his contract. So an outright sale at £250k ish (with add ons) is probably the best they can hope for
AllHell - totally agree about the price mate, in the reported words of Megson on the 1st August 'brainless'! http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...n_blasts_600_000_demand_for_striker_1_3634839 I cannot remember what the Posh reaction was but probably along the same lines. The Gills are still in the hunt for a striker, although obviously with our current form, Hessy will not be rushed into anything. I know what your saying about the wages but then who expected us to bring in the eight signings we did, not me for one. 250k would attract a lot of interest that's all I'm saying.
Reckon you could be onto something AllHell... McDonald hasn't even made it into Norwich's 18 man squad for tonights game...
Lambert had already made it clear at the beginning of the season according to reports in words to the affect that Cody was surplus to requirements. Indicating they (a number of players) need to make their agents work for them. Looking at more recent reports, I don't believe that situation has changed. The double edged sword is that every time an offer comes in Cody's value becomes a stumbling block. I said at the beginning of the season if I were Cody, I would just sit it out and play just as difficult, until Norwich come to their senses. IMO Lambert cannot play him, otherwise he is openly admitting failings in his current squad, after everything that has gone before.
Benson seems to have dislocated his wrist or some such injury so perhaps this could be a stumbling block for his departure, which seemed ever so imminent (despite only Notts County actually being named).
Thats more likely Super, however Rotherham state to have rejected a bid for Adam Le Fondre from an unamed club yesterday(I know theres a Northiness thing about him, but he scores goals)
Franco, you must surely remember Agboola? He is a Charlton Legend. He is up there with Kenny Achampong, Paul Bacon and Peter Garland.
Did he play to games in what i think was the 86-87 season? For some reason i think his debut was a nil against arsenal at sell out park?
