In fairness, I'd advocate retrospective action on anybody proven to have dived ... whether it's one of ours or not
exactly, if Ndidi hadn’t been sent off at the time I’d have agreed with a ban. Still unsure about Gray’s, seeing it more hasn’t helped. I still think play on, definitely not a pen but as Libby said, didn’t matter anyway
just watched the incident myself. Think he tried to do a vardy but fecked it up so he tripped over himself. More dive than play on but it's a hard one to call as it wasn't an out and out dive
Hmm, I agree, it’s not out and out as there is contact. A dive to me is over thin air (aka Ndidi at the weekend). I think taking into account scientific factors like momentum and balance, personally I’d say play on as I would if it was another teams player. For balance, I agree it was definitely not a pen. Gray hasn’t been known to go down easily before though, he tends to stay up
I watched the highlights on Facebook this morning and it was never a penalty, yes there was minimal contact but enough to make a man fall over?
when i meant doing a vardy i mean that he got in front, tried to slowdown so initiate the contact but it messed up as walker slowed down too and didn't run into him. Gray then tried to carry on running as it didn't happen, along with the momentum and getting his legs into a twist fell over. Not sure i noticed any contact (if there was very minimal) the easy decision was just to let the play run (how he gave a pen i don't know) but if i had to take an action, it was more a dive than a play on (yellow card suffice, not a ban though)
I thought I noticed a hand of Walker’s on him as oppose to a tangle of feet or legs. That’s what I thought anyway but it was a fast incident. Either way not enough contact to mean a pen but any kind of contact would send you over at that speed. I just think if a player is going to be accused of diving and have his integrity brought into question as a result, it should be clear cut. Too uncertain this one as nobody knows what was going through the players head. It’s the kind that happens every week from all teams though so I don’t agree with Leicester getting stick for it in the same way as Ndidi on saturday
... it's because most of our current squad grew up watching the likes of Stevie Mee at Liverpool .... a true master of the 'air dive' ... absolutely shameful
... are they as good as the video above? ... probably not .... usual scouse double standards ....to be expected
