People eat thai foodin the ulk. @The Gingermeister cook some traditional dishes. Not just chinese with chilli hoyed in.
Thai food varies vastly from region to region. Out in hillbilly land and the northern part (where ginge is) they will eat anything. And if its crap, just hoy more chillis in to disguise the taste. The south food is hotter and spicy, but not quite astraumatic as the north with their willingness to eat anything. The central part, including Bangkok is much more refined, and very Chinese based.
My brother in law had a Thai wife at one point. She came from a family who lived in a poor village near the Cambodia border. The first Christmas they came to ours I found her at 8am drinking a can of lager and eating raw prawns that she “cooked” in lime, chilli and ginger dip. She said that where she was from you worked when you had to work and you ate and drank when you were hungry and thirsty and there was food and drink available. I kind of loved that attitude.
Take the vein out. Dip raw prawns in a chilli or spicy dip. Lovely. People destroy a lot of seafood by cooking it But my number one thing is take a swordfish or tuna steak. hoy a few onions on top, a massive chunk off butter, and season how you like. Wrap in foil, throw on bbq (or put in oven this time of year). don't overcook. Perfection. them prawns would be an ideal starter.
Secretly, Skiddy will be fuming at this thread! He thought, by ditching the “skid mark” element from his name that people would eventually stop calling him “Skiddy” or “Skids,” but it’s only made it worse!
You couldn’t be further from the truth Quentin Ballsack. It’s a tribute to my culinary expertise now you’ll have to excuse me as I’m making a French Crema Catalana.
