Thanks for the kind word's all . Yes , they are part of the family . We still have 2 left , Purdey 19 & Toby 11( in Feb ). As has been mentioned , the 15 years of happiness & Memories , far outweigh the current sadness .
Sorry to hear that mate. Lost the cat I grew up with a few months back, had her since I was 7 and lived until I was 28. Lived at my mums but whenever I would go round would be all excited and jump up and sit on my knee etc. Really **** when they do go, but just have to think about how great it was having them. I always had animals growing up so thought I had gotten "used" to the death aspect but it really never gets any easier.
Another thing to remember is that you can change your mind and start again with education. So many parents seem to think that you have to do your education at set times....just not true especially with the longer working life now. Two of my nephews left school early with no qualifications...now well into their twenties, one has an IT degree and the other is half way through an IT degree.
You can't exactly replace an individual animal, but as you know another pet will be along soon to love. All the best.
We still have 2 left Fran . First thing I did after we got home and had composed ourselves , was I had a stern word with them saying they better stay healthy
That's a good age . My first when I was young at home was into his 20th year when his kidneys packed up .
Good point Fran, I left school at 16 with just O-levels, and ended up 10 years later doing A-levels at evening classes followed by a full time degree.
Mine are brother and sister from the same litter and adore each other. I know they will both go pretty much together Anyway enough talk of that; celebrate them for how they are today, what they have given back to you and to what you have done for them.
I'm currently working my way through episodes of Upstart Crow. I'm sure I'm missing some of the quips because I never really took much notice of Shakespeare at school but I am enjoying it!
Just noticed that a 'depraved' prisoner has been escaped recaptured in Southampton. He was in an open prison serving a sentence for holding a disabled woman prisoner for 3 days and subjecting her to sexual assault and torture....he had also tortured a mentally disabled man and fractured his ribs. He is classed as low risk....I suppose he is if you are not vulnerable....so that's alright then.
Have to say that from what I've seen (I have to admit it's not a lot), this series is a bit disappointing. The jokes are a bit obvious and not very funny IMO. The League of Gentlemen looks to be at it's bonkers best though.
