I did the South Padre Island, Corpus Christi, San Antonio (The Alamo), Dallas(JFK Assassination spot), Austin(State Capital), and Galveston/Houston Texas to Louisiana Baton Rouge (State Capital) and New Orleans(Bourbon Street)about 12 years ago, it was ****ing superb, i miss living in Houston even now, the humidity was horrendous but that was nothing compared to the tropical lifestyle.

I fancied myself as a snowboarder, but it's ****ing dangerous. At least with surfing you have to physically paddle yourself into a wave. With snowboarding/skiing, it's very easy to gain some speed and quickly. It also hurts more when you crash.
I've got this daft idea, that is without any foundation, that I'll be a natural. No evidence to that effect from things like skateboarding and such like, I'm just convinced I'll be great.
Mate I am old and feckless! My kids are all old enough that we can go away and leave them (as long as a cleaner comes in) so that does help. As Piskie said the flights to California aren’t that dear, it will be cheaper than taking everyone skiing
