Or Iborra, I know the keeper went the right way so it looked less convincing but from the replay he couldn’t have put it anymore into the inside side of the net. No keeper was getting that
Let’s see how the FA cup goes. TBH it’s going to be similar in the sense you can only get so far before taking on the big boys. Fact is to win, we will have to beat them
actually another thing was clear tonight - iheanacho is definetly not a fit for us or us for him. feel a bit sorry for him to be fair
Watching Iheanacho tonight just emphasised how hard vardy works, closing down and chasing every ball.
I'd go with Iborra as the main penalty taker as I don't think Fuchs is going to get that many more games. His positioning has been found wanting this year and his pace has gone. Great deliverer of the ball but unfortunately that's not his main job. Vardy never even looks to see how the keeper is setting himself before he decides where to go and Mahrez penalties are usually a nice height and too soft. Nobody on here has mentioned the antics of Ndidi and Gray in diving to try and get penalties. Personally I feel ashamed that we are so desperate to get something out of a game by cheating rather than by beating the opposition fairly. Naively, I'd hoped we were better than that. I know other teams do it and people say it's now part of the game, but it doesn't make it right. Ndidi did get correctly punished but Gray definitely got away with one. Any other thoughts?
Agree with Iborra for pens, Silva is meant to be great at them too. Re antics for pens, Ndidi was shocking, especially on a booking. He is only young but needs to use that as a lesson and not do it again. He let the team down. Gray, I think a bit different. He didn’t go over thin air, it was minimal contact and as soft as they come. However, I think when you are running that fast, momentum and gravity makes it much more likely you will go down. I think in that scenario it should be play on, I don’t think it warrented a pen, but I think it’d be harsh to punish as a dive and a yellow as it was completely different to Ndidi. I don’t like Bobby Madley but I thought he did well doing exactly that when similar happened to Vardy and just played on and also pulled up the clear dives from both their players. I just think Gray’s was a very (excuse the pun) grey area and shouldn’t be called either way
... still the FA Cup dude (and we've never won that - so another first ) .. plus hopefully a push for a European spot ... we did OK last night tbf ... probably should have won it in extra time ... although the pen looked a bit soft
I'd happily take retrospective punishment for divers ... even ours ... has to be cut out of the game ...
