It's a PR move by Nolan. He has been awful for West Ham and the fans are beginning to get on his back. He thinks by looking like he is helping recruit players as good as Joey he will get them back on side. Even if Joey did do it would surely be to replace Nolan. Now,shut up Nobby and concentrate on keeping West Ham where they belong!!!

They want Barton but will end up with Smith, heard it hear first ;)

Everyone's a winner then. Except West Ham...

It's the comment of "The way he has been treated over the last couple of years, he is probably looking for an escape."

What you mean stood by him while he was locked up and helped him get his career back on track???

We offered him a new contract him and his dodgey Agent knocked it back expecting the club to buckle and bad mouthed the club. So they withdrew it.

Don't think he has been that badly treat personally.

Nolan has a habit of putting his foot in it, remember the Carroll comments when he moved to Liverfool.

****in Tit, great servant to the club but wish he'd keep it shout now.

What an idiot. I think he has realised now that West Ham may not have the quality to get promotion automatically.

So because he drops down a division then Barton will aswell? Barton is a much better player.

Super Agent Benny Arfa is doing the trick for us. But he has us on his side already so we love him even more

This,I think Nolan has realised it's not going to be as easy getting West Ham back up as it was us because we had a much better team than West Ham have and is trying to recruit some mates to help him out.

And Tash, take off your toon tinted glasses off for a minute mate, Enrique was quality against Arsenal. You just sound a little bitter.

I honestly think Joey may stay now and see out his contract, all these offers his agent went on about don't seem to have materialised and we've played well, wouldn't surprise me if he stayed and we have a good season that he accepts a new contract evetually.

Joey seems well and truely settled here with his missus, he said he wants to see his career out here and has even said he'd stay in the area when he finishes playing.

Where as Nolan said he'd look to head back to he NW once he finishes playing.

I'm hoping it is just Nolan spouting off and nothing will come of it, if anything sounds a bit gay. "He can look after me and I'll look after him" :S

It's deffo down to the West Ham fans realising they were robbed with the amount they paid for that slow sack of ****e of a player <ok>

Hardly a sack of ****e mate, yeah he's slow but pace has never been his game. He'll still get plenty of goals for them especially in the Championship.

Ok, maybe it was a bit harsh, but you can't say he was worth the money on their part. He's not even half the player he was for us in the fizzy pop league, he actually had enough pace to handle the league back then and his goals cloud what is otherwise a fairly average Championship player.

Nolan will do well in the Championship but that's not something to be particularly proud of. He's starting to lose it in the EPL and he knows it. Time to drop down so he can stretch his career out a few more years.

I can't understand why people get upset by things like this. His allegiences lie with West Ham now and he'll be doing anything he can to help them. Its his job too, particularly as captain. Barton is a very good player and would be a massive help to them. So he is trying it on and trying to use their friendship to his teams advantage. I just find it funny because you just know if the shoe was on the other foot, we'd be encouraging it! No big deal. Nice try Kev but I don't think Joey will be taking the bait.

Yeah mean't to add to my post that he wasn't worth the contract he wanted though.

It's basic respect and, most importantly, respect to the fans who adored him in the few years he was here. If he had any shred of respect for that, he wouldn't be trying to coax one of our favourite players away from us.

The guy just seems so bitter now against NUFC. What pisses me off the most is that he isn't directing it towards the owners like many players (i.e. Barton) would. He's directing at the club as a whole.

  16. Nolan looks ****e for West Ham, Carroll looks average for Liverpool.

Both players didn't realize how much Joey Barton helped them.

Joey may have only got 9 assists, but we all know he created so much more than that. His deliveries were perfect for Carrolls goals, and Nolan's goals came from Joey Barton delivering a perfect ball for Carroll or Shola to knock down for him.

Nolan is a average player IMO(in general)... apart from his goals, leadership and experience what else does it bring? Yeah that's right.. NOTHING!

Cabaye is twice the player IMO.

  18. Agreed. But i still think we could have kept him and used him as a plan B or an impact sub. He could score goals, so if we were drawing 1-1, and trying to get the winner, but our strikers weren't proving effective in that particular game, we could have brought Nolan on to get a goal.

He would have been good cover also.

I agree to a certain extent, but 60k a week within our wage structure is a hell of a lot to be paying a 'backup' player.
