It looks horrific. I have driven on that road between Portland and Seattle many times and also ridden the Cascades train between the two cities on several occasions. The track was always a rough ride and there are lots of sharp curves where the train has to slow down.
It's like euthanasia. It's the future. Then of course there is 'hysteria'. You can turn that on and off like a light switch. Well you can according to a fairly recent Scunny or Grimsby manager (last 2-3 years). Can't recall his name. Sorry
You're in for a shock Brady old chap - I worked many years in the steel industry and have seen 'tyres' sweated onto rolling stock wheels throughout my time there: the old steam trains all ran on tyred wheels. I did see a costing once and (if memory suffices) one set of loco wheels cost more than a dozen metal tyres. Some trains do indeed have tyres
