The EEC or the EC are not the EU, it's all changed.

There's a youtube video where someone says Brexit is irreversible, I'll find it.

If the above is the case, the rebel MP's had a chance to call for a second referendum when they took power from May, but they didn't, they voted on having a vote on the final deal.

If we can have a second referendum then we can have a 3rd and 4th one, and keep going around in circles, which is why there won't be a second referendum, it's been put to the people, they voted out, Cameron quit instead of calling for a second referendum, and so on.

Straight in / out vote!! and May tried using that excuse and mentioned Brexit is leaving the EU, it doesn't say how, or words to that effect. She stabbed the people in back, and she'll eventually pay for it.

Well the person who wrote Article 50 believes it's reversible “I’m not a politician. I’m just the guy who wrote the treaty telling you what the treaty means.” https://www.theguardian.com/politic...sible-says-man-who-wrote-article-50-lord-kerr

The government have refused to release their official legal advice as to whether they have been told it's reversible which is a pretty good indication that it is.

The reason there won't be a second referendum yet is that there isn't enough public support for one; if there is enough public support and the polls are indicating some change but not yet enough change then there would be one because any party could offer one and if it's popular enough they would be elected and implement it. (likewise for a 3rd or 4th one). That's how our democracy works.

It’s really a political question as well as legal. If the U.K. wanted to reverse it I’m not in much doubt the EU would want that too. Apart from anything else it would be a great message to a few smaller countries if even the U.K. ‘can’t’ leave.

My guess is they will try to give us less good a deal than we had - and we’ll end up keeping our rebate but might not get back the two EU institutions that have now been awarded to other countries.

That's because it didn't say how we would leave the EU.

Which is why I posted David Davis comments on referendum that they should be held when people know exactly what they are getting; many prominent Brexiteers said during the campaign that living did not mean leaving the single market, others like Nigel Farage said what's so wrong with the Norway relationship - what wasn't on the ballot paper was that we would leave by hard or soft brexit - just that we would leave.

    Spot on

Even Labour would if they thought they’d get elected

But also true to say there’s not yet enough grass roots momentum

Once its in and the world doesn't end, after 6 months them thinking its great will be about 75% of the population, there will then be an election and Corbyn will get 20% max.

In the medium to long term that might be an option - if the UK had a clear plan and had prepared for it's role for post exit but it doesn't have one and hasn't prepared for its exit so the reality will be that people by the time of the next election will look at the last 5 years spent arsing around leaving the EU and say well that hasn't changed immigration, hasn't improved the housing crisis, hasn't improved the NHS, hasn't improved pay in real wage terms, hasn't ended austerity, has damaged the economy etc etc

Then they will likely ask if it was all worth it and who is responsible for the above.

And I doubt they'll be forgiving.

Remember that bus with the 350 million on the side - don't remember people voting because that would be the cost of Brexit
