And you'll also have people who don't and won't vote if there is a second referendum, but there won't be a second referendum because the vote has been cast and passed, and can't be reversed, it's the British Political and Democratic way. We can't keep having referendums till the left get their way, that's not democratic, it's a dictatorship. .
But all the polls said first time we wouldn't vote out. if we had another vote,we would vote out by a bigger margin next time, now people have realised there's no WW3.
So we should have another referendum then - leavers would get the answer they wanted - the Brexit the government is actually negotiating would get approval - it would strengthen the governments hand - Whining remainers would finally accept it was the Will Of The People Unless of course You’re not as confident as you pretend?
Nice one LL, petition signed ,and link sent to everyone I know Democracy must be upheld and the dumb sheep who are being brainwashed by the media/ establishment need saving from themselves
While that may be ok for you pensioners (benefit scroungers)not fair on us tax payers who pay for it so no,just man up and problem solved.
I'll let you into a little secret; just about everything that you've just written is incorrect. There was a referendum in 1975 whether the UK should stay in the EC they voted yes. Are you telling me that that vote can't be reversed so last years referendum was meaningless? As a side point referendums are not the British Political and Democratic way - we have only had three UK wide referendums in the UK's history (the first being in 1975) so unlike say Switzerland which has had 180 in the last 20 years or Ireland which is having 7 in 2018 they're pretty much new territory so as much as you can try and claim the rules in reality we'll rely on the actual British democratic tradition of representative government to decide/ implement them. As we do live in a representative democracy any party can put forward in a manifesto that they want a second referendum or they want to repeal the decision to leave and if they get enough MP's elected to form a government then they can introduce an act of parliament and do either if they win the vote in the House of Commons. That's the British Political and Democratic way. It's not about keep having referendums until the left get their way - it's that democracy is not a one date deal. So we voted to leave the EU and if there is a change of public opinion then it would be undemocratic not to reflect that - I suspect you and others know that which is why you are so hesitant to even allow the suggestion of having one? If you had faith in your position you should be demanding a 2nd referendum because if you won it then it really would be game over for remainers for a generation. As for why we should have one - the question proposed was just a straight in/out vote and offered no description of how we'd leave what our future relationship would be when we left and what the costs would be. Once the public have seen what the deal is for leaving then we should be allowed to alter or reverse it or indeed obviously go ahead with Brexit it either by a referendum or by electing a government that give those options. Here is someone in parliamentary debate in 2002 explaining why the type of referendum we had is the worst type of all; please log in to view this image https://www.thepoke.co.uk/2017/12/14/david-davis-mp-is-a-plonker/
I see you have made a case for remain by fitting in the views that support it.i am not scared of another vote and i voted out.what i dont want is the new lefty labour party in power.as for the brexit deal my view has never changed.i stated i wanted the best deal for my country.if it means compromise over trade and customs well lets see how that works.Austria just slid to the far right giving a clear message about migrants. Have you seen the proposed new Europe being being ruled by a central body.do you want the french and germans ruling our country because they are serious about it.if amenber does not vote yes then they have to leave the .E.U.
And there you have it, you want another referendum and we haven't even left yet, just because the establishment didn't get their way, you haven't even given it a chance, you can't even see what they are doing to the people, you're so blinkered
After we have been left the EU for say 50 years, and the public want it,I have no problem with having another vote about re joining if that's what the public want.Democratic see,you should try it some time.
Why would leavers be demanding a 2nd referendum? They won the first one fair and square It's like hot favourites Leeds United losing to Sunderland in the FA Cup Final and Don Revie demanding a replay because Leeds shouldn't be losing to that lot, that if Sunderland believed they'd won fair and square then they shouldn't be afraid of a rematch If, and it's a big if, there was to be a 2nd referendum, and there was an option of a 'leave the EU immediately without paying them so much as a penny let alone £50Billion+' then I actually think leave would win again by a far bigger margin
No I want a 2nd referendum once the full details of what leaving entails so people can make an informed choice on that basis. And the haven't even given a chance argument holds no sway; I haven't even tried loading a gun and firing it towards my face because I have an idea of the consequences. Establishment didn't get their way - which establishment? Do you mean Jacob Rees-Mogg the Eton and Oxford educated son of a life peer who worked in the city and married the only child of Lady Tadgell in Canterbury Cathedral attended by politicians and members of the nobility before becoming an politician in 2010 Or Boris Johnson, the Eton and Oxford educated ex journalist/editor of The Spectator who has been a politician since 2001. or Nigel Farage the Dulwich Boys school educated ex city worker who had been a politician since 1999. recently seen attending the Evening Standard and Independent owner's garden parties with Rupert Murdoch and meeting Donald Trump in his lift. They may try and position themselves as rebels and outsiders but they are the very definition of the Establishment.
I think so too,the thing that stands out about the EU is they hate us, always will always have, and will always try and screw us over.AGAIN.
Yeah but the Don didn't know Ian Porterfield was playing or that Jim Montgomery would play a blinder so a replay would have been fair........ in a remainiacs world of course
I get the point but it's not quite comparable. I could make the argument that it's like Leeds being given a replay against Stuttgart after it was found that Stuttgart had broken the rules but whilst I would disagree that it was won fair and square I don't actually think it's really comparable. For me it would be more like Leeds playing Sunderland in the FA cup final and being promised the FA cup if they win and then after winning being given the Buildbase FA Trophy. The referendum was to leave and lots of false promises were offered by all sides. Once the reality becomes clear then I don't see how it would be undemocratic for people to vote on if they want that reality rather than the varied promises they were given.
Who says they want it ? Lets be fair,if you get say 20 million signatures saying they want it then fair enough.
Indeed please log in to view this image Keep an eye out then for this mans increasing calls to leave by 2019 as he said the other night; “We cannot be a colony of the EU for two years from 2019 to 2021, accepting new laws that are made without any say so of the British people or Parliament or Government.” Which I'm sure has nothing to do with the fact that in 2019 the EU are introducing anti-tax avoidance policies for multinational companies and cracking down on off shore tax avoidance and the company he co founded Somerset Capital Management is a multinational company based in London with subsidiaries in the tax havens of Singapore and Cayman Islands. https://www.theguardian.com/busines...ission-to-crackdown-on-offshore-tax-avoidance
