Willian, Pedro and Hazard are hardly giants, even if they stand on one anothers' shoulders. Hoping Bakayoko becomes that dominating force, we see glimpses but not yet the complete article. Conte is right though, last 10 matches have seen us with 8 wins, a draw and a loss, great record from a Team still wobbling a bit from injury and tiredness. Would really like to see us have a go with Morata AND Michy as a front 2. We've tried everything else, so what's to lose?
Everyone should acknowledge Alonso was invisible before Cedric got hurt. After Cedric went away Alonso transformed into rare Roberto Carlos mode. Even then he was awful defensively with Kante bailing him out time and again. Alonso can be a decent player in the opp half if no pressure on the wings. Even with half decent backs in the opposition, Alonso will be found out. This is where i like Baseball or hockey, bring the designated hitter or Penalty corner spec. I will do the same for Free kicks - sub in Alonso and hook him right away. Simples!! We will not concede when Cescy doesn't start - another Simples!! Our team is not cut out to chase games. We have to be tight and nick 1-0 or 2-1 like we did all season last season. So we cannot carry Luxury Dummy goods like Cescy!!

Sorry, don't agree with any of this. Alonso had a really good game, all game, and he's a wing back, not a defender, whose main job is to bomb forward and link play with the midfielders or attackers. Right now there's not too many players who do it better in any team. Kante spends the entire game bailing everyone out, not just Alonso. As for Fabregas, used correctly he's in a class of his own. His achilles heel is playing too often, but that's not his call. It's Contes' job to set up the team and Fabregas plays when selected.
Exactly!i thought we were superb yesterday. Our passing was crisp and mainly to feet, our movement was great the only thing was the finishing. Stan doesn’t understand it’s a team game and spends way too much time being over critical of two or three players. The Soton goalie made some cracking saves too and on another day it could have been five or six.
I might write out the entire match thread for the next game before it even happens. It'll mainly include Stan slagging off 2-3 players before one of them 2-3 players wins us the game with a goal or assist.
