quite simply destined to be from dean windass a clinical volley, a vital step forward and who knows maybe thats the moment from the home town boy that for 104 years of history, the city of hull has been dreaming about its fairytale stuff he has the presence of mind to spot windass and how about that for volley and technique, it is first class, gets his head still, watches the ball right onto his foot, and the rest is history, that is absolutely magnificent.
Could we make a team from ex-city players called Brown? Phil's Manager and we have already got Wayne at the back. We could have Andy Brown and Linton Brown up top....
Filling up...................Again.. Put a wreath on my dads headstone today. Told him we were playing Cardiff away tonight. He absolutely loved that day at Wembley.
Not sure why Wayne Brown should feature in the title unless I've been whooshed .. Mikey Turner was the hero for me that day with the goal saving tackle. It was always in the stars that Deano got the winner .. the strangest moment of the day for me came after the match while walking round Leicester Square in my City shirt I had a chorus of 'Deano Deano' from a group of American lads .. surreal not the word ! Saddest part of the day was my dad who was a life long supporter never got to see them at Wembley or in the top flight having passed away in 2005.
Fortunately my dad was there with me and my two brothers and it was a truly special day in more ways than one.
It was one of the best days of my life. At that point I had supported City for 44 years with lots of ups and downs. I had begun to believe we not reach the top flight in my life time. That day and the year that followed can never be topped for me.
After my wedding day and the birth of my two daughters, that's as good a day as it's got for me so far. Cried at the final whistle and proud of it.
i looked at bristol citys forum after they beat man utd and they were saying it was their best football moment of their life they cried they hugged random people next to them but really they missed it all out in 2008. please log in to view this image i see a certain lee johnson there that windass volley will remain forever, the best moment in hull city afc history.
2008 is so long ago.. 10 years.. it is worrying how fast it has passed. geez i feel like it's worth mentioning after bristol city beat us being 2 goals behind and then beat manure
that clerance by ricketts to windass to head to barmby who passes to Campbell and the rest is history.. how about that it is fairtytale stuff i still just can't imagine it when we play leeds when parkin scores the winner you say dean winass scores a 20 yard volley in front of 90k at wembley to win his team promotion to the prem its absolute Ridiculousness
