I have a feeling GG's right and we will be bottom 3 today. I think Pards will also go past us at some point. As it stands I'd have us as one of the two guaranteed relegated with Swansea. Most years there's two nailed on then a 3 or 4 way fight for the last space.
The thing that's really killed us this season has been the fact there've been clubs below us doing really badly who should never have been there in the first place. You look at the cash spent by Palace, Wet Spam, Bournemouth, Stoke and we're in an unbelievable amount of trouble. Our only hope is that Hudds/Brighton continue to plummet to make up the three with Swansea.
Watching the Leicester v Palace game in the hunting lodge West Monkseaton and Palace look streets ahead of us ffs.. Pace, commitment and belief.
A goal for Zaha, who seems to have modelled his look on Dwayne Dibley. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
They've spent more money on better players. They're bound to be better. The thing is both teams have players on the bench who would walk into our first XI. There's only a handful of teams who don't.
In terms of selection I don't think we have any better than what we've picked. Still crap and going to get hammered but I like the dropping of RItchie and understand the selection of Joselu ahead of Gayle as it's going to be attack v defense for most of the match and Gayle is about the worst at holding up play. Again we've gone with a non-number 10 in the number 10 position, which constantly baffles me, but Perez has been effective on the odd occasion as a front line of defense. No way at all this shower can score a goal, so it's an 8-2-0 formation for me.
We might as well play nobody as Joselu and Perez. Yes, good opposition, but these two fckwits just give it away under no pressure. Piss poor.
Joselu is just so ****. What annoys is how do Arsenal advance to the final third so easily, yet we find it so very difficult? I never see NUFC controlling the attacking third. We give it away with such consummate ease.
I thought after the opening day of the season that Lejuene looked pretty decent but no.......he’s dogshite like the rest of them.
I honestly think a lot of our problems start with the fact Joselu is utter dogshit, and Perez - though not doing badly today - is usually gash as well. Murph/Atsu aren't doing enough either. We don't have the awareness of movement to get into good spaces but, to be fair, 1-0 is surprisingly good, we're well ahead on corners so it's not a bad showing at all. Something to build on, I thought we'd be absolutely smashed today.
I still think we could end up getting smashed! I cannot wait for the takeover to complete and the optimism to lift the club and in particular the fans. Also, it cant be good for the players either. I hope we ship out a number of bad ones and get in about 6 players on loan mainly.
