    Nope; Edinburgh however I became 'infected' by FC Bayern in 1966 when I viewed a young Franz Beckenbauer on the box. Was aware of Munich's finest from earlier years' Topical Times football books and learned more from visits to the local public library as this was, of course, pre internet.

    Became 'my team' when Bayern Munchen destroyed the dirty c**ts (games against Celtic Glasgow) from Athletico Madrid in the 1973-1974 European Cup final replay.

    Over the years I have visited Munich and other cities/towns/villages in Bavaria many times.

    Oh right. My daughter is moving to Munich from Hanover next week. I may take in a Bayern game when i visit her in the spring.

    Fairly difficult to get Bundesliga tickets however Champion's League or DFB Pokal tickets a wee bit easier to obtain.

    Up until my retirement from 'work' and the unfortunate concurrence of my Mum becoming unwell I used to purchase a season ticket for the standing area within the Allianz Arena. This cost me Euros120 rising to Euros140 over the years to 2009-2010 which allowed me entrance to the seventeen 'home' Bundesliga matches. I used to manage about five games a year with my trips costing me the price of my Easyjet flight and the cost of a meal for eight or so fellow supporters resident in Starnberg which is about 20 miles outwith the centre of Munchen. I used to stay with one or more of these 'new' friends during my football visits.

    Your daughter will love Munich. The city is great with many other picturesque towns and smaller cities easily reached by train from Munich. She should try Regensburg, Nurnberg, Augsburg and Passau plus trips to Oberbayern where the mountain scenery is equal to Switzerland or the Austrian Tyrol. 'Tripadvisor' here; you can buy a DB Bayerncard which allows a day's travel anywhere in Bavaria for Euros25 (nae ICE trains included).
