Anybody else follow the arrows? I love it, 2nd favourite sport after football and at times think it might even be my favourite - Phil Taylor's last and be great to see him retire with another title , one of the best English sportsmen of all time - Fact!

    Agreed. Miss Sid though.
My all time favourite quote from him
When Alexander of Macedonia was 33, he cried salt tears because there were no more worlds to conquer … [Eric] Bristow's only 27." <laugh>

    On winning
    "[He's] as happy as a hound-dog who's won a year's supply of Boneo."

"If we'd had Phil Taylor at Hastings against the Normans, they'd have gone home."

"When Alexander of Macedonia was 33, he cried salt tears because there were no more worlds to conquer … [Eric] Bristow's only 27."

"Look at the man go: it's like trying to stop a water buffalo with a pea-shooter."

    On losing
"He looks about as happy as a penguin in a microwave."

"Bob came on like the Laughing Cavalier … now he looks like Lee Van Cleef on a bad night."

"It's the nearest thing to public execution this side of Saudi Arabia."

    On feeling the pressure
"He's perspiring like a pudding in a pot."

"His eyes are bulging like the belly of a hungry chaffinch."

"His face is sagging with tension."

    On silence in the hall
"The atmosphere is so tense, if Elvis walked in with a portion of chips, you could hear the vinegar sizzle on them."

"There was less noise when Pompeii was swamped in lava! Absolute pandemonium here! Barmaids are frozen like Greek statues watching! No beer's been served! Everybody's eyes [are] absolutely hooked on that board."

"You could hear a blob of vinegar drop on a chip in this hall."

    That was my initial reaction.

    I like watching & can see it’s a good crack but it’s a game & never sport.

You over did the modelling clay.

Don’t get me wrong, I love darts. It’s fun to play. It’s strangely fun to watch.

But as Ben says, it’s a game not a sport.

Quite a thing Alexander doing that at 33 considering he died aged 32.

Long shot, but is there a PDC connection with Hull.

I often see a huge PDC lorry and a few marked up transit vans around here.

Do they store the stage set-up here and send it to the venues?

Darts and tennis are the sports of choice of Mrs Ref, Nadal and Van Gerwin are her chosen heroes, so when tennis is played at the other end of the globe I can be guaranteed to have hours of the stuff recorded to be watched later. No problem really as I'm into my music, You Tube and the free version of Spotify, being my choice entertainment, but I fail to see how 'supporters' of darts can sit for hours on end watching in huge halls, although football to me has the same effect today. As for tennis, once it starts it never seems to stop, but snooker is going the same way as darts, the Chinese are coming along and they are not exactly Alex Higgins, Ronnie Osullivan, or Kirk Stevens let alone Bill Webernick. Still whatever floats your boat.
