If only the best run football club owned by self made multi millionaires could see it, I know lets have a meeting with some picked at random supporters and see what they can suggest, ah but wait no one tells me how to run my business. Insert picture of mad cat running round in circles chasing its tail.
It really is simple, cancel your memberships. When only 3,000 turn up for a game they might get the message.
They don't give a **** about the fans so why waste time with meetings. I wouldn't even bother protesting. Walk away and **** em.
But everyone knows it was going on (and always has) and in some numbers too.....and it's my guess that those shouting the loudest about it now, were the main culprits. And it doesn't matter if it was 1 guy or 2,000 cheating with tickets !! I mentioned it a long time ago.......but i don't think its the actual revenue they are losing...... it's more the principle. It is basically stealing, which is a big issue in the Arab / Muslim world, which is why they cut off hands over there (which I have unfortunately actually witnessed) Others may argue that our owners are Westernised now.......but I worked for a bunch of Westernized Arabs in Saudi for a few years and they were 'paranoid' about any petty stealing going on, and I mean stuff like pens and pencils in the office !!! And they were from the 10th richest family in the world !! My boss was born and brought up and educated in England, much like a certain owner of ours, and all he wanted to do was move back to England and watch Chelsea, but if we couldn't account for all the stationary in the office totalling about 5 quid he would go apeshit I don't agree with a lot of what the owners do, but having worked over there for a while, unfortunately I do understand their twisted illogical reasoning Also the easy solution is to have a concession only entrance which is manned by someone checking ID's if necessary......not exactly rocket science
So many posts in this thread feel like they are justifying what the Allams have done. Whether that stuff went on or not it doesn't matter. The Allams are slowly ruining this club. I got a free ticket one day to go to Boothferry park, from then on I had a season ticket for exactly 20 years and it cost them barely anything and made a fortune from me. In 20 years time when our attendances are down people will wonder why, it's because we haven't got a new breed of youngsters coming into the club supporting the club. They won't do anything, this is a stalling tactic. Back the boycott is all I will say. So glad that I took this stance and have not gone to a game since (at home). We need to do something otherwise nothing will change, attending a meeting and getting false promises won't work. So many people criticise the Allams but do nothing, just do something. Whether that is boycotting (like me), protesting at the ground, joining in chants, just do something rather than sit there and moan about it!
I just wonder if those that were getting in as a concession and should pay the full wack are now not going at all, because they could only afford to go at the concession price. So the club then lose their revenue, as they have stopped attending? You will always get a few that do it, but frankly I am sure it is a relatively small number.
“Westernised”? Enob has lived his whole life here, he is “Western” The senile old **** has lived the vast majority of his life in the “West”. You’ve worked in as many, maybe more, Arab countries than Enob & The senile old ****. They are as “Western” as you & me. They have no principles, they’re ****s, they’re ****ers & they’re scum. This has nothing to do with where the senile old **** originates from.
Interesting read. Depressing actually, as you realise the game we grew up loving is changing irrevocably, and fans are being replaced by consumers, the vast majority who have no connection, other than a subscription and a replica shirt, to the team they "support". It is becoming ever easier to turn your back on it. Though you have to wonder how they are achiebingball this with such a common, lousy name. Obviously the bloke overseeing this and the owners of Man City don't know as much about branding and marketing as our esteemed leaders going by what he has to say about it "“Our brand is perfect, because it is ‘City’ and we know we can add that word to any city,” observed Soriano".
Your usual apologist ****e. Ehab's barely any more Egyptian than I am, he's neither Arabic, nor a practising Muslim, he's just a lad from Kirk Ella. He's come up with a piss-poor excuse for introducing his **** scheme and he's sticking with it, despite it being utterly lame. Unless he's so ****ing dim, that he doesn't realise that a 30% reduction in people attending costs him far more than a few hundred lads getting in on kids passes. Actually, scrub that, he is that ****ing dim.
Exactly - how hard would it be to have one manned concession turnstile for each stand? It's not rocket science ffs.
The Second Meeting with the Allams – and our Pricing Proposal The second Supporters Committee meeting with Assem and Ehab Allam was held on 14th December. HCST presented our alternative pricing model designed to fit the existing Membership Scheme and restore concessions without adversely affecting ticket revenue. Ehab and the club have stated that they will consider these proposals. The full proposal document can be viewed here... http://hullcitysupporterstrust.com/wp-content/uploads/HCST-Proposed-Pricing-Model.pdf We are keen to get views from supporters on this proposal. Our aim was to keep it as simple as possible and change as little as possible from the existing pricing structure, just to demonstrate how easily and effectively meaningful concessions can be implemented. Ehab Allam mentioned several times that his reluctance to offer concessions stems from his concern that adults will misuse them. HCST have suggested ways of preventing this, such as using concessions turnstiles and better stewarding, in line with how every other club in the country manages this. The club also agreed to consider this. Meanwhile, we are requesting that the club share the information they have on historic ticket misuse with us in order to help us understand the scale of this problem and propose specific solutions. On the subject of the club’s branding, the club had failed to share the club brand guidelines ahead of the meeting as promised last month but again agreed to send the relevant section on use of the club’s name. We reiterated our call for them to simply use the club’s correct name on all platforms. Ehab Allam expressed that he wouldn’t be ‘bullied’ into a change on this. A notion we not only reject but find insulting to supporters who have put up with a seemingly endless stream of poor treatment by the club over the last few years. The club have agreed to work with supporters to introduce a new badge. Ehab admitted he doesn’t even like the existing one. The Committee advised that any new badge must bear the name of the club. Again limited progress has been made. The next meeting was agreed to be held in the first week of February.
Hull City Supporters' Trust 'frustrated' but 'encouraged' after Committee meeting City fans met with the club owners once more last night Hull City Supporters’ Trust Chairman Geoff Bielby claims he was left frustrated after last night’s Supporters Committee meeting. Three weeks after their last meeting the Committee met up once more, as promised by the club, in an attempt to bridge the divide between the fans and the club’s owners, who have been at loggerheads since the name change debacle in 2013. Much like their last meeting, a number of topics were discussed including the lack of concession ticket prices, the club badge and the use of Hull City in the club branding. However, while he admits the Committee is making small steps towards progress, Bielby admitted he was hoping for more last night. “There’s a commitment to meet again in the first week of February,” Bielby told BBC Radio Humberside. “There’s a commitment for the club to look at the Hull City Supporters’ Trust suggested model for concessions, which is good. The big issue about concessions is simply that fans have accessed the stadium in the past using concession tickets and Ehab Allam feels particularly offended by that and other fans who have been paying full price should also feel cheated by that. It’s unacceptable. “Hopefully we can get that changed and we can get back to having real concessions in the future. The positive thing is the club have committed to work with fans and look at the badge that may well happen. “They are now going to give us the brand guidelines so we can comment on the use of Hull City and the Tigers, as opposed to Tigers and Hull City Tigers which seems to be required from the brand guidelines at the moment. “I’m a little frustrated we didn’t get more commitment and more movement. I really do fear, and I did express that to the owners, that they are not frustrated and protests start because there will be a big problem if fans start protesting during matches. The owners believe –wrongly in my opinion – that that puts the players off and that affects results. “Slowly but surely we are getting somewhere, as long as we continue talking there’s always an opportunity to get further.” to be fair, they did a masterclass in doing **** all and we've fallen for it, again - hands up who thinks February's meeting will get us any further - I'll nail my flag to the mast - it wont, but they'll thank the existing committee for their excellent contribution, agree a new date and wait for the newly elected committee to attend the next meeting and the charade goes on and on - did we get the roof mended - did we ****
Teeny difference in that those owners are billionaires, and have thrown countless millions at their club, buying the best players in the world, which has guaranteed their success, and that success then attracts the slightly hard of thinking cretins who just want to "support" a successful team, globally. So, to them, the name is irrelevant.
'We reiterated our call for them to simply use the club’s correct name on all platforms. Ehab Allam expressed that he wouldn’t be ‘bullied’ into a change on this.' What a ****ing clueless twat.
Agreed, but unfortunately, some like the moaning. I'm 59 and at my time of life I will not be ****ed about by anyone.
there's no wonder Ehab doesn't like the badge - having no name doesn't insult the fans enough - my bets on Hull City Tigers
I don't think he's clueless at all, he knows very well what he is doing and there are still one or two who either can't see it at all or are prepared to give them YET another chance. February FFS.
"a number of topics were discussed including the lack of concession ticket prices, the club badge and the use of Hull City in the club branding." “The positive thing is the club have committed to work with fans and look at the badge that may well happen."
