Now I am one of the Bruce In brigade (at the moment) but I have a few questions.

Players like Connor Wickham, Stephane Sessegnon, Wes Brown and John O'Shea signed for Sunderland because Steve Bruce sold the vision of the club to them.

If we sack Bruce, how do you think these players will feel? They will come out and say they are feeling great but deep down, how do you believe these players (who are all, IMO, very important to the club).

Thoughts of this are my main reason for being in the Bruce In camp and NOT knee-jerk reaction to, admittedly, poor results in certain games.

Also, if Bruce was releived of his duties as Sunderland manager, who do we replace him with, who is there out there at the moment, who could do the job on a similar wage to Bruce? Ancellotti? Not on the sort of money he would be after. or would you go for Sven or Steve McClaren (not for me).

if we were to get rid of bruce, we'd need a proven manager to keep the fans happy and if that proven manager succeeded in every game except the Derby, I believe the Bruce Out brigade would turn into a [insert name here] out brigade.

    Just my 10 pence worth

Only problem with sitting on the fence is the splinters. Wouldn't like to say one way or another what we're to do at the moment.

You're right though, he brought in some class...

I think that Bruce will be given at least 10-12 games by Quinn and Short. The reason why I say this is that after your bad run at the end of last season your owner and Chairman had to make a decision on Bruce's furure at the club. I honestly think that your win at West Ham and our 2nd half collapse against West Brom saved him. (That West Brom result could have been a blessing in disguise for us)

They backed Bruce and allowed him to spend cash bringing in his players, but I think that it is noticeable that Short hasn't given him too much of his own money when you take into account the money for he had from the Bent and henderson sales.

Having backed him, they have to now give him a fair amount of time to get the players to gel as a team, so I would expect him to have been given around 3 months to prove himself.

Personally I want Bruce to stay at your club as long as possible. I think that he struggles with the pressure when things get tough and is tactically inept. Still, he was given a nice new shiny contract last year so maybe Short is holding back some transfer funds to pay his compensation package in October.

With all the comments regarding this subject, I think we should shorten some of the names here for quickness...Bruce In Brigade = BIB...Bruce Out Brigade = BOB....... Bruce On Fence....Can be bloody painful if it has spiky railings...

I have to say on a scale I am. BIB.......x.....|........BOB. That little x can move left or right depending on a run of results. Atm its on the BIB because we are only 2 games into the new season, to get rid now would be suicide with him bringing in 10 new players. He needs a little time to gel his new look squad together and find the formula to win 15-20 games over the next 36.

I am BIB. We signed 10 players, possibly the best of these Oshea is injured. We have played 2 games and been the better team in both. It's not gone our way so far but that usually evens itself out. Newcastle then Chelski last year. Bruce needs until January. You don't let a manager sign 10 players play well in 1 1/2 games and then sack him, that is he actions of a lunatic IMO.
