Yeah, cos two halves of the season are often the same.

It’s a real shame we hadn’t been playing better lately...

I'm glad you have so much faith that everything will get better on its own. We have been much better, so much better in fact that we can claim zilch against city, a point against Arsenal a point against B'mouth and an ass whooping by Leicester. In that same period Crystal Palace secured twice as many points as us. You don't stay in the league because you tired really hard and deserved more.

and wet - pissed down when i was walking to ground. totally miserable night & you could see what was clearly coming from about the 5 min. Mahrez & Okazaki just sliced through our "midfield stoppers" & back line with such pace & ease, you knew what was coming. still can't believe we were so poor. set-up, application & effort.

To be fair, Leicester were a lot better than any of those teams. They outplayed us for long periods of the game, none of those others did.

Who said anything about doing it on its own?

Think you’re trying to twist what was said fella!

I just have a little more hope, I see we have played better lately, and thing likely will get worse before they get better, but I’m prepared to be patient, maybe you’re not.

It’s ok to have a different view.

Fans zig zag too much. It took a couple of promising results to lift the spirits....why not, we all wish Saints well. I thought we would find Leicester difficult....though not a 4-1 loss. However, one loss doesn't throw us back to the bottom of the pile. The season so far shows that we are still wandering around lost....we are better than enough clubs so I don't fear relegation....though that shouldn't mean the team should play like we don't fear relegation!! Our team is playing under par....they are better than their results. Let's hope this loss hasn't damaged the flicker of hope the team might have felt (don't care about us fans....suffering is what we do)....the team needs confidence and to regain team spirit.

I don't think we'll get relegated. And I don't think sacking the manager will help even if we do get dragged into a relegation battle. We had three managers in the season we got relegated from the PL in 2005.
We got rid of Poortvliet in Jan 2009 and still got relegated to League 1.
I really don't see anything to gain from panicking. And before Wednesday, we were showing signs of improvement.

You can’t really continue to make the argument for a kind fixture list when you’re halfway through the season.

Not being complacent, but I heard many a fan saying we will get relegated last season after going out of the Europa League

So if we remain the same we will achieve safety (though the points needed can vary)....however, I think we will get more points in the second half than in the first. And I don't think that is unreasonable to think so....we know we have under achieved. Certainly don't see a reason for fans to panic....we don't want the players complacent, but how does it help if we mentally accept the possibility of relegation now....that's like saying that your dog is old, so you'll start mourning now rather than waiting till he dies.

I'm not arguing for relegation I'm pointing out the position we are in which is that we are on track to hit less than 40 points this season. I'm not saying sack MP2 yet, but I will be expecting to see some action very soon. There are plenty of options, He may go, we may get new players, some big names may ship out, we could play some academy kids. The club as a whole will need to do something this time not twiddle thumbs and see what happens like last season.

There's not a single part of me concerned about getting relegated. There is too much rubbish in this league, and we surely can't mess up yet another transfer window. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if we finished with a very poor points tally, and slumped some way down the league compared to recent seasons.

Obviously if we put a few more Leicester-level performances in, then I will get worried. No team can survive playing that badly on a regular basis. But I'm not expecting to see them on a regular basis. Utter boredom, yes. No direction, yes. Strange decisions/tactics, yes. Lack of reacting to on-field events, yes. But total and utter sheer ineptness, not worthy of non-league standard, no.

Is anything less than 100% perfect transfer window always considered a failure or mess up?

I wish I had your confidence.
I’m not saying we will be relegated, but I am old enough to remember the Brian Clough led Nottingham Forest, who were deemed “too good to be relegated”, in the season they were relegated. And Forest were playing a better style/standard of football, in that season, than we are in this.
West Ham, Everton and Palace are starting to turn their season round.
I think Bournemouth will improve, simply because they have some decent goal scorers, and WBA’s point at Liverpool looks as if their change of manager may herald a better future for them, especially as AP tends to start well.
That doesn’t leave that many teams in the same situation as we now find ourselves. It could even come down to “head to head” performances, and we could rue our inability to see off the likes of Brighton, Swansea, Stoke and Huddersfield.
