Take in mind back then Torro Rosso and RBR had exactly the same chassis, just different engines, so you're taking about a Ferrari powered Adrian Newey designed car. Also that same chassis managed to qualify 1st, 3rd and 4th with only Heikki as competition in the middle(Lewis got ballsed up by rain using the wrong tyres). So whilst a relatively impressive race it wasn't incredible, I'd say he did better in say Korea 2010(engine blowup aside). And SA, I think Vettel is good - but from what I've seen he is no better than Jenson Button(which isn't a bad thing, Jenson is v. good!). Take in mind the 2009 season; when the car is a monster Jenson wins 6/7 of the first races(familiar?). All the class you need to do it is to be quicker than your teammate, which both Vettel and Jenson was. However Vettel's 2010 season makes me believe he is thoroughly overrated. I realize he suffered the brunt of most of the reliability issues but c'mon - being outperformed by Webber by most of the season, and with the fastest car only leading the championship once, at the end...while your teammate was injured?? True Hamilton isn't having the best season but he's shown a few times this season that he has incredible talent. I personally think he's the fastest driver over a single lap, and the best overtaker. Strategy he trusts his team too much, and he's not an incredible pussy footer on the tyres. But I don't think pussy footing should be what F1 is about to be honest.
The toro rosso had an inferior aero package to the red bull, to try and avoid showing up the big team. Didn't work too well...
That TR was probably as good as the Renault (maybe a slight bit worse), Alonso won 2 races, Vettel won 1. Both had good seasons, But Vettel just cant do anything well from behind.
