I was 15 when we left Boothferry Park and it's seems a lifetime ago.

I miss the place like crazy. I had my greatest childhood memories there.

We had to move to progress or the club would of died.

Spent over 30 years watching City at the old ground. However, the day Ash bent that goal in at Yeovil when we got promoted for the first time in years was the day I personally stopped pining about Boothferry Park.

    Just being honest.

    Miss BP

Good days when you could stand with your mates

    City since 1966

Best day ever was City 2 Stoke 3

First time I got my dad to move out of West stand seats and stand on bunkers

Great Times even when we were not very good.

Why did football clubs get their record attendance back in those days, they were on about Queen's Park in Scotland on talk sport today getting 95,000 back sometime in the forties, what's happened to all these people? , and I know most will be dead before some smart arse says <laugh> just mean why did so many teams get massive attendances then which get nowhere near now..

Cheap admission to terraces, not expensive seats.

Prices are a big thing certainly, there's more people can do in their leisure time as well now.

No live footy on the TV or live on streams on line

Cheap prices could go with a gang of mates and stand together

Less things to do on a weekend

Haven't seen this photo before. Presumably the 55,019 game is it?

I think it's the Chelsea replay Arnie. There was no South Stand for the Man Utd, 55k game.

I don't think it is that game, as that was before the south stand on bunkers was built. Could be the boxing day game against Millwall, where there was 42,000 there, and small kids were actually sat pitch side on the track that ran round the pitch as the stands were too full.

Don't think it is that game, as it was a night game, I was there and it was dark. As I said in my other post might have been the boxing day game with Millwall, who were 2nd at the time, were there was 42,000 there, which was the capacity after the south stand was built.

At the Chelsea game as a junior I paid one and six to get in. That was half the adult cost of 3 shillings (15p). Football was very affordable then even for someone like me who came from a fairly hard up working class background.
I was one of the kids sitting on the planks of wood on the track inside the fencing.
