On our way home from last night's game, we got off a Jubilee Line train at Waterloo, just as one from Stratford pulled in, full of Gooners, a number of bobble hatted types amongst them. My daughter points at one in spectacles and cries...........

In fairness, Ramos lost his job because he banned Tom Huddlestone from eating Mayonaise. As soon as Redknapp gave him the keys to the larder we shot back up the table (2 points from 8 games etc.)

I thought it was ketchup he banned?

Mostly because there's a damn good reason to ban mayonnaise: it ruins everything it touches, which is the reason I haven't bought a sandwich from Pret Manger for the best part of a decade.

Unless it's got ridiculous amounts of garlic in it, mayonnaise is disgusting. Stuff out of jars is doubly or trebly disgusting. Why anyone would want to eat the stuff is beyond me.

Now cheese, I could eat cheese all day, every day...........hard cheese, soft cheese, blue cheese.........

I agree it's hard to get a decent sandwich with simple fresh ingredients. They only use mayonnaise to prolong shelf life and cover poor ingredients.

Good in coleslaw, raw cabbage, carrot and onion is improved with mayonnaise. Great with a bit of fresh pineapple and a few prawns added to the coleslaw as well. Not by itself, but with a decent pizza, my homemade pizza, Roquefort, black cherry jam and chilli is tasty, not the ****e one gets from supermarkets nowadays.

presume will be some in Town and if my memory is correct the Elms is just the other side of the river so easily walkable/staggerable.

Used to work round there years ago & with Bass & Marstons pubs all around all was well with the world even if the place stank due to the breweries and the Bovril factory.
