Best beers in the world are mainly American it's a pity they do the ****e like Miller and Bud as well. Saying that the awards have been spread out a bit lately but if you want an IPA or a Vienna style lager then US is the way to go.
There's a place called the Deer Lodge in Ojai that's a favourite place of ours when we go to California. They have loads of local craft beers on tap. Some amazing IPA's, There's one called Spindrift which is like an American India pale ale. Really crisp and a bit fruity. It's something like 7% though, so best drank in the US glass of beer servings rather than pints. Also the Sierra Nevada brewing co are the big players in California, you can get their pale ale in UK supermarkets too.
I don't tend to buy anything fancy just because it's Xmas. Don't get me wrong I proper stock up, but I don't spend over a score on a bottle of spirits, **** that - waste of money imo. I'll probably get 3 bottles of rum. Nothing fancy, probably some Mount Gay, some Captain Morgans and whatever else. 4 crates of Stella and I'm done. Probably about a £100 in total.
Bottle of Bailey's x 2 (for sipping in the morning) Morgans Spiced rum x 2 Becks (bottles) x 48 Weed x lots Hash x lots Cocaine x lots Mdma x pace that **** accordingly spending on state. Dmt x 2 grams (promised myself as Xmas pressie) Pussy rollmops Grapes Ham Bacon coleslaw Happy xmas
Put your peanut back in its little shell, Pix. CFC couldn’t take a kakky nappy to the cleaners, let alone a Wum Master!
Ha ha. Similar list. Got some nice fishscale in and proper safrole oil Mum and Dad. Got some changa in and Dmt. Can't get any decent Muswell Hills: anyone tried green or red Super Marios... pill report etc says they are lame
In all fairness I hate IPA. I strongly dislike American beer. In a boozer I drink ale but none of this hoppy craft bollocks. A good balanced ale. My local sells bathams which is the best beer in the world. It also sells Wye Valley ales too which are excellent. Over Christmas for home drinking I will buy either some german pilsner, some German wheat beer. Then some decent French red wine. Been drinking Fitou lately which is very good. I may buy a bottle of bourbon.
IPA makes my gums feel like they've been stuck together if I have too many. I like the odd one but it's not for a session. The yank ones are better than impostors like Brew Dog punk for sure. Although Brewdog do make some really good beers. I'm with Sweats, a good well balance, far from gay, ale is the way forward. Timothy Taylor's for instance. I like a dark winter ale too, Adnams Broadside or such like. For day to day quaffing I'll get a couple of boxes of Stella/Kronenburg/Becks and I'll ferret away some cans of Moretti and Estrella just for me. Other than that, about to buy a case of red to supplement the stuff I brought back from Spain in summer and I'll have Merlyn, Talisker, Tanquaray, Bombay Saph and some good Port on hand. No rum. I'm not down with this rum obsession.
This stuff is winning awards everywhere, sounds like your kind of thing. please log in to view this image http://www.beersofeurope.co.uk/hook-norton-red-rye
