Maguire just ran through the Soton defense and forced a save - that is our CB. We are playing playstation football atm.
Fair play to Puel. I didnt want him and thought he would be a **** appointment. He has proved me wrong But I thought the same about Claudio Ranieri aswell
...Shinji deserves MOTM for that display but Mahrez positively purring ... scores one and key involvement in the other 3 ... boy's on fire
Outstanding performance from the boys tonight. Can't pretend I wasn't worried when I saw the team but definitely proved wrong. Delighted to be so. Some great football from us tonight and the fact we have other options scoring not just relying on Vardy is encouraging.
Yeah, I noticed that your Sunderland mate on the prem board said one goal no assists big deal. Well I was very impressed with the corner for the second, reminiscent of Xabi Alonso and Gerrard to the edge of the box and the free kick as well as finding Vardy for the 4th. He may not have got an assist but if you go back to the assist to the assist it all came via him. Shinji though, 2 clean finishes
Saffy's had a few issues with us ever since our great escape and then stuffing them first game of the next season - I think it rankles a bit that a club of our size has done as well and has attracted the kind of talent we now have at our disposal. Let's face it, Sunderland would kill for our bench Have to respect other's opinions - even if you don't agree with them ... Mahrez is not 'world class' apparently... but Martial and Rashford are? ... on the back of what? ...neither's achieved much in the game so far ... don't misunderstand, I love Rashford - he's got great potential ... but right now neither of them, nor Sane or Ericksen would, IMHO, be as effective for us as an on fire Riyad Mahrez is ...
Yeah I’ve noticed frustration from him for a long time. World class as a label seems to be given to players depending on who they play for. I would say on his day Mahrez has world class talent but hasn’t consistently done it yet. Not to take away from his current form though and long may it continue
What I find most pleasing is that it’s a freezing cold December and we’ve had 2 away games in 4 days including midweek at opposite ends of the country at 2 grounds we have hardly set the world alight at previously and come away with 6 points and 7 goals. I know it’s hardly like they walk from a to b and have probably flown but still beaten the worst travelling the fixture list could chuck at us. Now for 3 home games, Palace we should win, would be great if we could progress in the cup and if we avoid defeat against Man U that’d be decent
Palace could be tricky ... scrapping for their lives and dangerous players in Zaha and Townsend ... expecting a real test.
No game is easy in this division and they have some talent but at home we should be confident. I expect we’ll dominate the game but yeah our defence will have to be on it. I can see us continuing our own goal scoring run though, could be a high scoring game but I remember two year ago our defence chose this fixture to shut up shop and get pizza so here’s hoping again!
The movement of Okazaki for his second goal was just fantastic striker play. It's one that the great Fox in the Box Tony Cottee would have been proud to claim.
Same as previous windows, will someone pay up? Allegedly we wanted £50mill last summer. Surely given his form this season we’d up that.
For me it’s simple - you just don’t sell your best players in January for any fee. You tell them to wait.
