For all my normal light hearted spin on most things, the current situation has royally p!ssed me right off. Without going into formations, the use of the right players for different situations etc, the bloke has demonstrated a complete lack of ability to " coach " players, furthermore it's pretty obvious his signings have left a lot to be desired. If you look at the sh!te he's signed and the length of contracts some of them are on it really makes you wonder whether he really does understand what's actually required.

I agree with you but frustrating that he won't try anyone else, Diame, Darlow, Joselu and Manquillo shouldn't start but they do

People are always ready to make excuses for Rafa, hower, he is so entrenched in his views that no matter how useless a player is if your face fits you play.
I agree with others that the majority of his signings are poor, and he has spent some cash, but if Manquillo, Gamez, Diame, Joselu are better than Mbemba, Mitrovic, Clark then I can't see it.
I told my son weeks ago that we'd be bottom 3 by Xmas and I doubt I'll be wrong.

Have not read any post as I've just come in from the match and tbh with you we did not deserve to lose.. Hit the post and bar and keeper ****ed up.... They never really harmed us.... We need to hang in till the club is sold. Rafa decisions to play slo mo disastrous... There is plenty of games to play and its tight as **** from bottom to ninth... If we sack rafa. Who do we get?
I say let's stick together and hopefully we get some players in.

They both sacked their managers and got someone new. Your point is?

That’s not the point. The only reason they picked up extra points is because they sacked a manager and brought something new. We are rinse and repeat with the same tactics same players and same ****......

Can't see many points in the next 5 games tbh reckoned we'd have 20pts at least by now after last 5 games, optimistic I know but didn't think we are that bad but we are.Does Rafa know he's getting funds, Ashley won't sack him because it's not his problem or it won't be?

Fair point but my point is we did OK tonight apart from a **** wit keeper dropping a bollock and the wood work we would of won it... I'm also saying there is a long long way to go and with the right investment we should be OK.
I'm not a rafa zombie and I hated his style of football last season but I don't think we should sack him as I can't see a alternative that would come.

Football is fickle as **** I'm listening to talk sport as I type... Moyes has gained 4 points in his last 2 now he's a ****ing genius... He has belief, calmness and a eagerness... And West ham gave hot him at the right time... Ffs let's seen in ten games

Exactly what I was thinking. A couple of wins and you are up to mid table. Anyone from 11th down is in the relegation fight at the moment. Just put a bit of faith in the manager and keep backing the team. I really can't see other managers doing much better and as much as we can go "play this player or don't play that player", the replacements aren't much better.

I don’t want Rafa sacked I just want him to realise what I believe are his mistakes. Reinstate Elliott and give Mitro a chance. If he ****s it up then fair enough.

Although maybe Rafa is sick of Mitro and now Shelvey letting him down.

Well that was ****e. We knew we were going to be in relegation battle at the start of the season. I’m not surprised we are. However I am a little annoyed after the start we had.

As everyone knows I’ve not been a big Rafa fan for quite some time. I was disappointed the way we went about it last season. This season I gave him his dues when he was getting results despite some poor transfer business due to lack of funds. Let’s not also forget though he selected the players and has more control over transfers than any manager before him under Ashley. He is also operating under circumstances that are no different to those Pardew operated under. McClaren yes had more support, but would I want Rafa to have that money based on what I’ve seen? I don’t know to be honest.

The willingness to defend him due to money is one aspect of all this and does have some traction. However what his supporters cannot in any way defend is his selection, substitution and tactical policy. People motor on about how people wanted 442, got it and it’s failed. Firstly he hasn’t deployed that how most envisaged it, ie at home with particular personnel. Secondly it’s down to him not anyone else.

Selection is the single biggest problem currently - when you haven’t spent much money and have poor players, you better pick your best and have them drilled. He doesn’t and he has sunk us into low confidence and malaise with his stubbornness.

As for the game, exactly as expected. Allardyce just played tight and waited for the inevitable mistake. I’m not sure why Darlow is playing? Why isn’t Woodman used?
