Look at the shape of the team, again. It's all fooking wrong - it's 4-4-2 with stupid fcking slo-Mo up front with Gayle.

There's this intangible feeling that we a) won't keep a clean sheet and b) won't score. There's a belief that is seeping out of the screen.

To be fair we're not looking that bad in the context of recent form. Darlow has absolutely ****ed us though and the doubt has creeped back in. We've learnt to run at a defence that won't come towards us and I have been impressed by Yedlin and Ritchie. The rest are pretty pathetic. We won't get a result now sadly.

I have really tried not to post tonight but Diane just frustrates the living daylights out of me. He is not even trying and he must hear the crowd groan every time he touches the ball and ****s up.

As for Darlow. He is clearly not a good a good keeper. He should be no where near a premiership team.

Darlow should hang his head in shame. Absolutely pathetic.

The front two look lost. The worst thing is we can get it wide, we're attacking well on the flanks, but there's fck all in there apart from Ashley WIlliams' head. Gayle has the touch of a blacksmith, Diame is vying with Joselu and Guiv'arch for the worst attacker I've ever fcking seen. They have hopeless movement, no awareness and the whole team looks like they've spent the week playing Xbox and met up before the game for a shandy.

I do not, cannot and will not understand why Ritchie isn't central with Aarons or Murphy on the opposite flank to Atsu. As for Mitrovic, think that's the last time we'll ever see the lad. If he can't get in tonight, he never, ever will.

We're bottling a lot of the tight games in which we are looking competitive then coming away with nothing (Brighton, Huddersfield, Burnley, Bournemouth, Leicester and probably tonight). It's a huge worry and will probably get us relegated but I'm not convinced anyone else would get more out of the players we have. We need to just try and survive this season by any means and then build. We may, we may not. There's an element of luck and all a manager can do is make his team competitive - I'd argue we are. Though totally undermine myself by expecting to lose every game so I'm not sure how to explain this further.

This is completely true but I just don’t get diame in the starting line up and also Darlow. The actual formation is right but the two I refer to are clearly not good footballers.

Pity we have an absolute fraud of a keeper in nets.

Darlow had his moments in the EFL but DIame has been dogshit since the day we bought him. When did he ever have a good partnership with Gayle? We need to start getting partnerships working; Merino/Shelvey works because they're both professional footballers with some talent. The wings struggle a bit 'cos the fullbacks are poor, though Yedlin's been ok tonight. But up front? I don't know what Rafa is doing and i fear he doesn't either.

Yeah the issue isn't that they are poor it's that - and I would agree - we have better prospects available. If this was the plan I'd have preferred to keep Daryl Murphy, I'd pick him over Joselu or Diame every day of the week. I can't defend Benitez on that I just think his best, with it's flaws, is better than anyones elses we could have/get.

Oh, and the icing on the inexplicable Rafa decision cake is that Mo Diame will trot out again in the second half, but will be the first one subbed in the 62nd minute. Waste of 15 minutes. Why, Rafa, why?

Genuine question - does Lejeune have no concept of what a cross is?
