Well since spending most of the recent seasons in the mega bucks Premier League apparently we are skint. We recruited an unheard of German Dortmund reserves coach and bought a load of Bundesliga2 players hoping to do a Huddersfield. We started badly then went on a strange run winning 1-0 or drawing 0-0 for about 2 months. Lost to Arsenal in the league cup then went on another 2 month run without winning. We have one of the lowest goals scored stat and seem to just pass the ball about with no end product. Until last week when Alex Pritchard returned from injury and together with James Maddison these two young Englishman ripped Sheffield Wednesday a new arsehole especially in the second half. Norwich went from play off contenders to relegation battlers since October but in this topsy turvy division we may even crawl back into contention again. Angus Gunn on loan from Man City is a class act and so is Klose on his day Pinto is good at right back and the Krauts aren't bad Zimmerman Steipermann and Trybull in particular. We only have 2 strikers Jerome on 2 goals with his confidence shot to bits and Portugal international Oliviera who on his day is unplayable but he's been in and out with injury. So if our Talisman and star man Maddison plays well alongside our highly rated expensive Pritchard then it could be fireworks. The club made some terrible decisions and awful transfers notably Naismith for £8m and £40k a week and a few other over priced duds but we have the makings of a decent side . Our main weaknesses are defending set pieces and no consistent 20 goal a season striker which is essential at this level I'm predicting a hard fought 0-1 to Norwich but I spend most weekends expecting us to lose .
We are a one man team. Stop Saiz and you stop Leeds. With our Kraut back in goal I won’t be expecting a clean sheet. I am staggered we are as high as seventh.
Very interesting thanks You’ll probably get a respond from Glory telling you he expects a 5-0 walkover for Leeds. Unfortunately he doesn’t do reality, So ignore him he’s probably in one of his manic phases. Reality is we have a few weaknesses and these can be exposed st home where the onus is on us to make the running
See what I mean about Glory’s over the top optimism? He even thinks playing our German goalie guarantees us some goals And thinks we should be top 6 - double
Even our wins have mainly been boring 1-0s but occasionally we get dry humped by teams like Millwall and Sunderland . I don't think the Dortmund approach worked so the coach tried to mix it up a bit then that didn't work either but it's been painful to watch most games. Last week was one of the few exciting games and scoring more than 1 goal was a huge surprise. I quite like Leeds so after Saturday I hope you do well.
I have a 6 fingered wife so always look out for your results. We’ve been scooping up players from all over the place so Wikipedia has taken a bashing. Some are players with potential for the future, an interesting approach but who knows. The ones ready for the first team have been a mixed bag, though I have to say this squad is more fun to watch than last season under Monk (not necessarily any more effective though) Think Saturday really could go any way
