I think this match shows exactly where our weaknesses lie. We need a top quality striker to help get us those goals when we are on top. Deeney just isn't at that level and not sure why he is starting. Good to come on if we need his type of player, to put a bit of bite up front. I do want Gray to start more and maybe just needs a few goals to build his confidence... but don't think he is really a 15-goals a season man either It also shows are shortcomings in defence. We're ok when we see a lot of the ball but when a team is putting the pressure on and has pace, then they look poor. I like Kabasele but would happily replace all the others. Another frustrating night where we threw it away... and Cleverley - why didn't you take that yellow card against Man Utd for their 4th!
Didn't even see Femenia walk off! Hardly helps does it in terms of organisation and continuity within the team and our defensive shape.
Didn't sleep well last night, angry i have concluded. What is wrong with Fermenia? If he can walk off he can stay on the pitch and at least make a nuisance of himself as the commentator said. I thought Cleveley's second yellow was a bit harsh, but he should know better. I felt that guy who fouled Pereya should have walked, it was deliberate and dangerous, Cleveley's was just a mis-judgement. Hudd and Brighton are must wins, we should be hot on Burnley's heels but some how we have blown it.
I haven't been able to find anything in the media about Femenia, other than the fact that he was injured - which potentially leaves MS with a huge headache. We now face a run of matches without Femenia, Richarlison, Hughes, Britos, Cathcart, Chalobah, Kaboul & possibly Pereyra due to injury, as well as Zeegelaar and Cleverley due to suspension - not to mention Okaka for whatever it is he has done to annoy MS. Nearly half our flipping squad... Am not so confident about Saturday - especially after reading that Michael Oliver will be in charge...
