Mick, I have an idea for the website but there is nowhere to post it which has given me a second idea... My first idea was that it would be nice if when clicking on a parent thread, in the list of threads we could also see the threads in the sub forums like what we could on the BBC. Might be an idea to have a place to view all latest threads too. My second idea is that we could do with a forum entitled "Bugs + Feature Requests" in which we could post our ideas for improving the site. Yours.
I have an idea... Ban all football related threads from GC Ban any **** who starts a thread about another user (for the sake of an arguemnet - ****in use PMs ya pricks)
The temptation to post; It would appear that you do not understand the concept of personal messages. was just too great for me to resist.
Thanks for proving the need for a place to direct posts at Mick where others can offer input regarding said posts.
I can't stand seeing threads like those, specifically designed to attract petty strife. It feels incestuous, cheap, dull and pointless. If the site wants to give the impression of being queasily self-referential and inward-looking, however, then it would be a real shame to instantly delete such posts. Stopme - hello. "....we could do with a forum entitled "Bugs + Feature Requests" in which we could post our ideas for improving the site." You could be right, who knows? Personally speaking, however, I'm always going to feel uncomfortable making requests/demands of a service I use for free. If the site administrators themselves put up a post asking for such ideas - and if there was a feeling that they would actually read them, respond to them and possibly/probably even act upon them - then okay, maybe. Failing that, I'm happy enough to passively accept just whatever changes may ever be made to this place, free as I am to go elsewhere in the event of unwelcome catastrophe.
You know that the authors of such posts are the type who regurlarly have arguments with people on Twitter and Facebook. For them this kind of behaviour is perfectly normal, and they don't realise how pathetic they look.
I can fully imagine - although happily living without a Facebook or Twitter account, I'm at least spared such a crushing spectacle. (You're a Manchester United fan. No, I insist. I think you'll find you stole Alex Ferguson from us, hmm? Hand him back, Jip. Nobody needs to get hurt here.)
You can have him back in 5 years, take it or leave it. Don't make me create a thread "calling you out" for all to see!
Five years? But he'll be dead. (I'm not saying this is necessarily a deal-breaker, just that we may need to slightly modify the dugouts.) I retreat, anyway, in the face of your admirably fierce threat to call me out with a thread of my very own. You are clearly a man of violence, Jip, not to be messed with at all.
Wise move. I've got a thread typed-up, ready to cut and paste. I've probably got more muscle in my right arm than you have in your whole veggy-sustained body
