I go away for a week leaving my team on top of the championship and having decided to give a game to Northampton and I come home to find we shipped 13 effing goals in 3 matches and by reading some of your comments have played as competently as the U12's. Whats gone on boys?? I can always accept a couple of bad games a season but to have both in the first three games does not leave us much room for later on. What went wrong????? By the way I had a lovely holiday just in case you were goinig to ask....
Cheddy it was a real horror show. It wasn't quite so bad against Saints - the lads rallied at 3-0 to get 3-2 and then let another one in and heads dropped. Against Posh though we were on top for the first 25 although looking very very vulnerable at the back, we conceded a goal and then the floodgates opened. Posh suddenly started playing like they were in a Man United shirt and carved through our side like we weren't on the pitch - playing a high line which Posh had no problem getting in behind. Then Martin and Smith both got sent off and we spent the second half packing our own penalty box while Posh played triangles on the edge of it looking to pounce. Stockdale kept the score down. It was undoubtedly the worst Ipswich Town performance in the 25 years I've been watching.
Oh yes sorry everyone is calling for Leadbitter to be put in stocks on the Cornhill so we can all throw human faeces at him. That genuinely is a punishment that wouldn't even quite fit the crime!
I was thinking more to have his feet chopped off, it's a win win situation, A: its a punishment & B: he might improve
what went wrong? more like what went right. If I say that the only plus point has been our goalkeeper I think that will answer all your questions!
