I was reading through the skybet odds for transfers and noticed Krancjar to Sunderland was quoted as 1/10 which is normally an indication that this is nailed on. Now I dont believe we could attract a player like this and maybe im just desperate for some good news in this dreadful week but them are the odds so draw your own conclusions.

A week ago I would have said nailed on, then he played in Scotland then again last night and I thinks it now a very long shot.

We are certainly desperate for some good news but Kranjcar started for Spurs last night and until there would be no way he would be allowed to leave as the Modric saga continues and no other players are brought in.

I would say this wont materialise unfortunately.

Got a few days left for transfers....Gonna be a lot of transfer activities going on, will safc be involved in any of it?

Maybe, some going out maybe, so i won't rule out anything this week yet.

I know its not a popular thought but Gyan for Crouch and Defoe would do me

I'd be happy if we were sold Kranjcar separately as well.

Unless we get 2 strikers in, he wouldn't let Crouch and Defoe go.

I'd be extremely happy with a Crouch + cash for Gyan deal, but not letting both Crouch and Defoe go.

Wouldn't be too happy with letting Kranjcar go unless Modric decides to pull his finger out and continues playing at the same level he was at last season.

We'll probably end up signing Joe Cole with Modric and Bale leaving 2 minutes before the deadline closes...

There's little chance of any deal including Gyan unless you lower your asking price to under £20mill. I don't think Defoe's available anymore either but you could probably get Kranjcar if you bid around £12mill, which is unlikely. We'll throw in Hutton if you take Crouch, however.

The odds reflect the market not the player.

With few worthwhile bets £100 on the player might push the price to 1-10 but when the market is dynamic even a £1000 bet would not alter the odds. What you should look for is when the low price seems to loiter when there is no news at all to back this up.

A dynamic market would be Modric with lots of news and fluctuating price.

If someone put a £50,000 bet on father christmas signing for a club he would be 1-10.
